    About this Episode

Nick Hussey, a DJ from a very early age with a keen eye for the hustle!  Nick's Dj career started way back in his school days, selling mixtapes after already securing a residency at the local under 18s disco playing Electro, Soul and Street sounds...

After leaving School Nick found himself engaged deep within Manchester's Madchester music scene, in packed clubs such as The Hacienda and the legendary illegal Acid House after parties at The Kitchen in Manchester - Arguably the birthplace of UK House music.

The Kitchen was based in two knocked through flats at the centre of a moody, dark, concrete jungle, derelict council estate on the outskirts of Manchester city centre. Where the children of the night would head after the city's clubs had closed their doors.

Nick developed a love of House music that led him down the path of songwriting, producing and remixing. He worked on tracks for acts such as Bowa (Different story) Ultracynic (Nothing lasts forever) Rhythm of Life (Touch me) and FPI Project (Rich in paradise).

The worldwide success of Nicks productions led to remixes in the 90's for American artists Jodeci, Crystal Waters, Joi Cardwell and European acts such as The Charlatans, Corona (Rhythm of the night) and Livin joy (I'm a dreamer). After nine No.1’s in the dance charts and selling over 6 million records, Nick worked as a DJ playing Wednesday nights at Mambo’s & Eden in Ibiza

Further DJing gigs continued around the world from Moscow to Mauritius, Amsterdam to Vancouver, New York to Naples. More recently Nick has been the resident Dj playing to 5000 a night at the huge Zero Gravity Beach & Night club in Dubai, The Plaza Beach & Awqa Mist in Marbella.

Whilst continuing to DJ around the globe, Nick signed to Defected & CR2 records as an artist and has had recent releases on Kaluki Music and Freakin 909

Join me Derick Karma, as I chat with Nick how he met Ultracynic The recording of nothing is forever their first gig at The Chemical Brothers (Naked Under Leather) night and how things didn't quite go to plan. How Nick found himself stranded in Russia in the middle of a terrorist attack, meeting the Russian mafia. How did he make it out alive?
