    067 | Enneagram & Human Projects

    067 | Enneagram & Human Projects

Our last episode wrapped up the 3-part series on the Human Project Framework – Plan, Act, Reflect. In each of those episodes I shared tools and techniques that I explored and have embraced to support me in my own human projects. In this episode, we explore a tool that has intrigued people on their journeys to self-discovery – Enneagram. Matt Schlegel and I discussed what Enneagram is and how it can fuel your human projects and your relationships. Listen in and let us know what resonates!

Best-selling author Matt Schlegel is committed to developing highly effective, style-diverse teams and giving them the tools and strategies to tackle challenges that are seemingly impossible. Principal of Schlegel Consulting, Matt started his career as an electrical engineer and soon realized that successful project outcomes depend more on leading people than leading electrons. Matt discovered a powerful system called the Enneagram and used it to develop a novel set of tools, strategies, and applications for team effectiveness that he uses in his consulting practice and shares in his book Teamwork 9.0.

    In this episode:

    • Beyond the Human Project Framework

    066 | Human Projects Part 3 - Reflect (& Adjust)

    066 | Human Projects Part 3 - Reflect (& Adjust)

In this final episode of the 3-part series on the Human Project Framework, I share the “Reflect” phase of the framework. I discuss how reflection is so much more than a replay of things you’ve done, and I outline the benefits of intentional reflection. I then discuss, step by step, a reflection approach I use when looking at the progress of my own human projects. Finally, I walk you through what’s next. Reflection has its greatest impact when it arms us with information to adjust our plans and ignite our continued action. If you’re feeling a little scattered or uninspired, reflection might just be in order. I invite you to get curious!

    In this episode:

    • Discouragement
    • Reflection as an opportunity
    • Be intentional
    • Consider a method
    • Update your plan
    • Rinse and repeat

    065 | Human Projects Part 2 - Act

    065 | Human Projects Part 2 - Act

The Human Project Framework consists of three areas – Plan, Act and Reflect. In this episode, part 2 of the 3-part series, I walk you through the “Act” phase of the framework. I share how to establish the big goals that lead to the vision you created in the planning phase. I then walk you through what it means to take conscious, aligned action by building habits. Finally, I share mindset shifts to consider as you create momentum. If you haven’t moved on your vision since you outlined your plan, this is your sign (along with the tools) that you have everything you need to act. Let’s go!

    In this episode:

    • Signs and invitations
    • Big goals
    • Build habits
    • Be patient

061 | Nightmare On Main Street ft. Kathi McCarty

061 | Nightmare On Main Street ft. Kathi McCarty

This episode is a slightly different groove than what you may be accustomed to from The Encourage Project. While there is definitely a story of someone with a vision to take impactful action, the story hits so close to home (literally), it might shock you. I encourage you to get curious about where you live – and what else might be “living” with you. Listen in!

Kathi McCarty is a mom, activist, and founder of Meth Toxins Awareness Alliance. After experiencing a serious health issue, Kathi could not return to her position leading a large bank branch, so she decided to rent her family home as a means to offset her medical costs. What seemed like a sensible solution turned into her worst nightmare when her beautiful home was rented to a meth head by an irresponsible and unethical property management company. The tenant turned her house into a meth lab, contaminating her home while putting her neighbors and her entire community at risk. Kathi has turned the mess into a mission to raise awareness and educate people about the insidious presence of meth toxicity in our homes and lives.

    In this episode:

    • An accidental discovery
    • Navigating systems
    • Grit, grace, and finding the gift

Join me as I talk with Liz Morgan about how we fill our bodies is so much more than quieting our stomachs. It has the potential to heal us – and the planet.
