In Valencia, Spain, Mar Galceran made history as the first elected official to Spanish Parliament with Down’s Syndrome. I explain how this moment should inspire Americans With Disabilities to step in and run for elected office if they want to see true change. Being involved makes a difference and MP Galceran proved that by beating out 19 other candidates in Spain’s People’s Party vote.
