    • Brooke Avrick's New Ventures: Podcast and BillboardBrooke Avrick is an ambitious content creator with new projects including a solo podcast and a Times Square billboard. Her enthusiasm for her work and unexpected coincidences keep her audience engaged.

In addition, she recently secured a billboard in Times Square, which she will be visiting in person this weekend. Avrick's creative endeavors are varied and include podcasting, YouTube content, and even a potential appearance at a Broadway show. Her enthusiasm for her work is infectious, and she invites her audience to join her on this journey by subscribing to her podcast and taking pictures with the billboard. The unexpected coincidence of her flight schedule and the billboard's location only adds to the excitement of this new venture. Avrick's love for sped-up versions of songs, particularly those popularized on TikTok, is also a notable aspect of her personality. Overall, Brooke Avrick's energy and creativity are sure to keep her audience engaged and entertained.

    • Unexpected sources of success and attachment to musicUnexpected success can come from obscure sources, and personal attachment to music can transcend its popularity or overexposure.

Unexpected success can come from an unlikely source, even if a song or artist is not well-known in one's immediate circle. The speaker's hypothetical situation of suddenly gaining royalties from a popular song, even decades after its release, illustrates this idea. Additionally, people have unique connections to music and can become deeply attached to certain songs, despite their ubiquity or overplay in certain settings. The speaker's attachment to a specific karaoke performance and her fondness for a particular song, despite her potential exhaustion with it in other contexts, highlights this concept.

    • Reactions to 'Boys in the Boat' varySome found disturbing parts in the movie, while others enjoyed it for its production quality and feel-good vibes. The speaker questioned the PG-13 rating and admired George Clooney's direction.

The speaker watched the movie "Boys in the Boat" and had varying reactions to it. She found some parts disturbing, while others were not. She was intrigued by the film's quick release from theaters to streaming services. The movie was rated PG-13, but she questioned why since there wasn't much explicit content. Despite some confusion, she acknowledged that many people enjoyed it and considered it a feel-good film. The speaker also expressed her admiration for George Clooney as a director and appreciated the film's production quality. Overall, her review was neutral, but she acknowledged the movie's appeal to others.

    • Disappointment with hidden musical elements in 'Mean Girls'Clear communication and accurate representation are crucial in advertising entertainment to avoid misleading fans and maintaining trust.

Transparency is key when advertising a film or musical, especially when it involves a beloved source material. The speaker in this conversation was disappointed to discover that "Mean Girls" the movie was actually a musical, feeling misled by the lack of promotion and the hidden musical elements. The creative liberties taken with the songs in particular were a tough pill to swallow. However, the speaker did enjoy the performances of Renee and Janice, and appreciated the unique Gen Z fashion. The conversation also touched on the speaker's love for musicals and the original soundtrack, as well as their fondness for the "Mean Girls" source material. Overall, the importance of clear communication and accurate representation in entertainment was emphasized.

    • The power of storytelling in creating obsessionEncountering passionate fans at Barnes and Noble sparked my interest in the 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' series by Sarah J. Maas. Despite a missed opportunity to invite a fan to my podcast, I'm determined to read the books and join the obsession.

The power of a book and its ability to create obsession lies in its storytelling, particularly in the romance and wit elements. I encountered two passionate fans of the "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series by Sarah J. Maas at Barnes and Noble, each giving me a lengthy spiel about their love for the books. Despite the repetition, I was intrigued by their deep connection to the series and their excitement for the upcoming releases. However, my attempt to invite one of the fans to my podcast ended in disappointment when she didn't remember our previous encounter. Despite this setback, I remain determined to read the series and join the ranks of those who are obsessed with its unique blend of romance and intrigue. The challenge of pronouncing the unfamiliar names in the series is just one of the many obstacles that add to the overall experience. Ultimately, the allure of these books lies in their ability to transport readers into a captivating world filled with wit, romance, and adventure.

    • Embracing Individuality and Shared ExperiencesIndividual quirks and interests bring unique perspectives to conversations, and shared experiences can create meaningful connections.

The speakers in this conversation have unique quirks and interests, showcasing the importance of individuality. Lucian struggles with pronouncing names, while the other speaker is fascinated by Fruity Pebbles and their layered experience. They also discuss the unexpected passing down of stomach issues and the evolution of food preferences. Despite these differences, they find common ground in their shared love for cereal and engage in a lively conversation. Additionally, the speakers demonstrate a willingness to try new things, such as Celsius instead of coffee, and reintroducing cow's milk into their diet. Overall, this conversation highlights the importance of embracing individuality and the joy of discovering shared experiences.

    • Lunch: A Meal of Freedom and CreativityLunch offers freedom and equality, bringing people together regardless of taste or preference, and encourages creativity and enjoyment.

Lunch is a unique and special meal that offers freedom and equality. Unlike breakfast and dinner, which are often seen as traditional and set in their ways, lunch is a loose concept that allows for anything. As the speaker points out, even people with differing tastes and preferences can find common ground over lunch. Whether it's a rack of ribs or a bowl of Fruity Pebbles, lunch is a meal that brings people together and allows for creativity and enjoyment. Additionally, the speaker shares their personal experience with exploring new ways to enjoy lunch, such as trying flavored weed drinks or pondering the idea of a high tea party for cats. Overall, the conversation highlights the importance of embracing the flexibility and joy that lunch brings to our daily lives.

    • Exploring Catnip and Dognip: Natural Sources of Happiness for Cats and DogsCatnip brings joy to cats through triggering behaviors like rolling, rubbing, and purring. Dognip, or anise, can stimulate dogs during training sessions with no psychoactive effects on humans.

Catnip, a member of the mint family, is a common source of happiness for cats. The active compound in catnip triggers behaviors like rolling, rubbing, and purring when cats chew on it. Catnip is ground up and sold in small bags, often referred to as a "catnip bud." While humans may experience mild feelings of relaxation or drowsiness, they may also find the taste unpleasant and experience nausea at higher doses. For dogs, anise or aniseed, also known as "dognip," can have a stimulating effect when given in moderation. Dogs can benefit from it during training sessions. Unlike catnip, dognip is not psychoactive and does not have the same effects on humans. Catnip and dognip are not the same as marijuana, despite some similarities in their names and effects on animals.

    • Makeshift solutions and resourcefulnessCreative problem-solving can lead to unique and unexpected answers. Resourcefulness is essential when traditional methods are unavailable.

Creativity and resourcefulness can lead to unexpected solutions. The speaker shared an example of using a Sprite can as a makeshift bong during his teenage years, highlighting the need for resourcefulness when traditional methods are unavailable. The conversation then shifted to the Emmys and the speaker's discomfort with the close relationship between the host and his mother during the event. The speaker also expressed admiration for IO's authenticity and charisma, and shared an experience of meeting her. Lastly, a surprise gift from the Seth Meyers team was mentioned, showcasing the appreciation and connection between content creators and their favorite shows and personalities.

    • The importance of personal connections and thoughtful gesturesPersonal connections and thoughtful gestures bring joy and appreciation, but it's important to filter information and prioritize what truly matters.

Personal connections and gestures can bring great joy and appreciation, even in unexpected ways. Seth Meyers' handmade gifts left a lasting impression on the speaker, highlighting the importance of thoughtful and personal touches. However, the conversation also touched on the vast amount of information and distractions available online, which can often overshadow important issues or events. The speakers joked about the Miami aliens incident, but it served as a reminder of the need to filter information and prioritize what truly matters. The conversation ended with a lighthearted suggestion to divide and conquer when dealing with overwhelming information or events, such as the Epstein list or birthdays. Overall, the conversation emphasized the importance of personal connections, the potential pitfalls of information overload, and the need for prioritization and focus.

    • Speaker's nonchalant attitude towards birthdays and excitement for personal experiencesThe speaker values personal experiences over traditional events and is passionate about art, planning to hold a community contest.

The speaker doesn't place much importance on birthdays or traditional events, preferring instead to focus on personal experiences and observations. This is evident in her nonchalant attitude towards her own birthday and her excitement over seeing Pink perform at the AMAs. The speaker also mentions her passion for art and plans to hold an art contest for the community. Additionally, she makes a brief reference to attending the Billboard Music Awards and encourages those in New York to visit the billboard display. Overall, the speaker's tone is lighthearted and conversational, with a focus on sharing personal experiences and engaging with her audience.

    DTYS with Ena Cooper

    DTYS with Ena Cooper

In this episode of Drawn to Your Story, I had the pleasure of interviewing Ena Cooper, who worked for KIRO News for 30 years before starting her own advertising company. I asked Ena 10 random questions to get to know her better.

Ena shared with me her journey of discovering her passion for advertising, the challenges she faced in starting her own company, and the lessons she learned along the way. She also talked about her love for her dog and how she enjoys spending time with her girlfriends. During the interview, I created an illustration featuring a billboard with Ena's adorable dog and the words "wolrd's cutest dog next 7 miles."

Ena's inspiring story of following her dreams, taking risks, and finding success on her own terms left a lasting impression on me. This episode is a testament to the power of determination and hard work. Tune in to this episode to hear Ena's answers to 10 random questions and be inspired to pursue your own passions.
