    About this Episode

From one entrepreneur to another, want the most powerful advice you need as you start off 2024?

In this episode of the More Than Social Podcast, I share the top advice I learned from entrepreneurs I interviewed on my podcast in 2023.

This year, I want you to tackle self-doubts and feelings of not feeling enough right off the bat.

The advice shared by these top entrepreneurs includes making data a strong business ally, trusting yourself, taking time to pause before making important decisions, getting clarity with your goals, carrying a positive mindset, pursuing tasks that bring happiness, building connections with like-minded people, enjoying the journey of entrepreneurship, learning to say 'no', and mastering the art of selling.

I believe in you, and it's important to celebrate your achievements while enjoying the entrepreneurship journey and learning from the past.

    Make data your best friend:
Embracing data in decision-making can lead to more informed and effective choices.

    Trust yourself:
It's important to rely on your instincts and confidence in your abilities.

    Pause, then take action:
There is so much value in taking a moment to reflect before acting, ensuring more thoughtful and deliberate decisions.

    Value clarity:
In business, projects, tasks, communication and relationships. Valuing clarity before acting is a skill to hone in on.

    Carry a positive mindset:
Maintaining a positive outlook can influence your life and the lives of those around you in a significant way.

    Do what makes you smile:
Pursue activities and paths that bring you joy, satisfaction, fun challenges and excitement. You get to create what you want, how you want when you want.

    Find your people:
It's so important to surround yourself with supportive and like-minded individuals; it's a key to elevating your business, life, and relationships.

    Enjoy the journey:
Appreciate the process and experiences along the way, not just the end goal.

    Be patient:
Things don't always work out or happen exactly when and how we want them to. Find patience in achieving goals and dealing with life's challenges.

Only take advice that feels good to you:
Be selective with the advice you accept, ensuring it aligns with your values and perspectives.

    Learn how to say no:
There is so much power in saying no, and it's often one of the hardest things we can learn. It's okay to decline requests or opportunities that don't serve your best interests.

Spend the time to learn how to sell the right way:
Investing your time and energy in learning effective and ethical sales techniques that will skyrocket your business.

128: Why Your Ads Get Clicks but Not Leads

128: Why Your Ads Get Clicks but Not Leads
Running ads for your business can be an effective way to gain exposure and attract potential customers. However, it can be frustrating when you're getting clicks and views on your ads, but those interactions don't convert into leads or sales.

In this episode, we'll dive into the 5 reasons this may happen and provide you with strategies to overcome this challenge.

Reason #1: Choosing the Right Type of Ad
One common mistake is using the wrong type of ad when seeking lead generation.

    Reason #2: Consistency in Messaging
Consistency is key when it comes to running effective ads for your business. Ensure your messaging across all platforms, including your ads, website, and social media content, remains consistent and tailor-made for your target audience.

Reason #3: Targeting the Right Audience
Precise targeting is essential for generating high-quality leads. With Facebook's algorithm changes, being specific about who you want your ads to reach is important. Don't fall into the trap of casting a wide net and hoping for the best.

Reason #4: Optimizing Landing Pages and Funnels
Where you send your ad traffic can significantly impact lead generation. While websites can be distracting and may lead to lost opportunities, funnels provide a clear, step-by-step journey for your prospects.

    Reason #5: Form Optimization
Finding the right balance between collecting essential information and avoiding overwhelming your audience is crucial when designing forms. Asking for too much information can deter potential leads from completing the form. Keep it simple.

Running ads for your business can be a powerful tool for lead generation. However, getting clicks and views is insufficient to grow your client base. By understanding the importance of choosing the right ad type, maintaining consistent messaging, targeting the right audience, optimizing landing pages and funnels, and refining your form optimization, you can enhance your ad campaigns and turn those clicks into valuable leads.

127: STOP Running Out of Leads, START Booking Out Your Webinars and Calendar

127: STOP Running Out of Leads, START Booking Out Your Webinars and Calendar
When it comes to marketing your business, having a solid strategy is KEY.

Today, we're going to dive into an incredible case study that highlights the power of a well-executed lead growth plan.

We'll be looking at the journey of one of my clients, a successful accountant, and how she transformed her business by implementing proven marketing tactics.

    Defining Your Target Audience:
To market your business effectively, it's important to define your target audience. Our accountant client understood this and took the time to truly know her audience - female entrepreneurs. By identifying the specific group she wanted to work with, she was able to tailor her marketing efforts to their needs and preferences.

    Solving Your Customer's Problems:
The next step in the process is to identify the problems your target audience faces and position yourself as the solution.

Our accountant client understood that accounting may not be the most exciting topic, but she discovered a way to make it more engaging.

Instead of focusing on balance sheets and profit and loss statements, she highlighted how her services could help female entrepreneurs keep more money in their business and make more profit. By reframing the conversation, she was able to capture the attention of her target audience.

    Crafting a Compelling Webinar:
Webinars can be a powerful tool for attracting leads and converting them into clients. Our accountant client discovered the value of running webinars regularly to educate her audience and showcase her expertise. She positioned her webinars as free coaching sessions or masterclasses, which added value and built trust with her audience. By providing valuable content and showcasing her ability to solve their problems, she was able to generate interest and conversions.

    Promoting Your Webinar:

Now that you have created an engaging webinar, it's time to promote it effectively. Our accountant client utilized a multi-channel approach to reach her target audience. She combined offline marketing tactics by mentioning her upcoming training in conversations and email signatures.

On the online front, she ran paid ads targeted towards her ideal audience, utilized organic social media marketing, and leveraged her email list to invite her subscribers to the webinar.

By diversifying her marketing channels, she was able to maximize her reach and increase her webinar registrations.

    The Power of Storytelling:
An essential aspect of any webinar is the ability to engage and connect with the audience. Stories captivate the audience's attention and make the content more relatable.

By sharing stories that align with her target audience's experiences and pain points, she was able to build a stronger connection and create a memorable webinar experience.

    The Soft Pitch:
At the end of the webinar, it's important to make a clear call to action. Our accountant client recognized that selling doesn't have to be pushy or uncomfortable.

By focusing on the value she provides and how she can help her audience solve their problems, she made her pitch more compelling.

She offered a solution tailored to her audience's needs, such as booking a call to explore how she could help them further.

By aligning her offering with the educational content of the webinar, she effectively converted attendees into clients.

    Scaling Your Webinar Strategy:
To continue growing her business, our accountant client focused on scaling her webinar strategy.

She explored different avenues to attract more people to her webinars, such as increasing organic social media promotion, attending networking events, and growing her email list.

By consistently expanding her reach and nurturing her audience, she was able to increase webinar registrations, conversions, and ultimately, her client base.

By defining her target audience, identifying their problems, and positioning herself as the solution, she was able to attract high-quality leads.

Through engaging webinars and effective promotion, she converted those leads into clients.

By continuously refining and scaling her strategy, she experienced significant growth in her business. Remember, marketing isn't about being pushy; it's about providing value and building meaningful connections. So take these lessons, apply them to your own business, and watch your success soar.

    3. The Power of Niching Down
One significant takeaway from Chris's journey is the importance of niching down. By focusing on a specific niche, Chris was able to attract a dedicated audience and establish himself as an expert in that field. He emphasizes the need to speak the same language as your audience and tailor your content to their interests.

    4. The Impact of Short Videos: A Taste Test for Success
Chris shares his approach to creating short videos for social media platforms like YouTube shorts, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. He explains how he clips exciting and memorable moments from his podcast interviews and provides a taste test of his content. These bite-sized videos act as breadcrumbs, enticing viewers to explore more of his content.

    5. Engaging an Audience through Educational and Entertaining Content
Chris highlights the importance of engaging your audience from the beginning of your content. He suggests that videos should either be educational or entertaining, ideally both. 119: 12 Entrepreneurs, 12 Nuggets of Inspiration

    119: 12 Entrepreneurs, 12 Nuggets of Inspiration
