38 - 2024 Oscars Final Predictions
In their returning episode, the boys cover the nominees at the upcoming Academy Awards, as well as their predictions for who'll take home the golden statue for each category.
For this weeks episode, Angus talks about how the original isn't always better than the sequel; he loves 'Blade Runner 2049' but hates 1982s 'Blade Runner.' Will covers one of his most watched (and favourite) films of all time, 2013s 'The Great Gatsby,' which he feels is wildly under appreciated.
In their returning episode, the boys cover the nominees at the upcoming Academy Awards, as well as their predictions for who'll take home the golden statue for each category.
For this main episode, Angus and Will cover the two most successful and acclaimed films of the year and the circumstances behind their strange pairing— Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, and Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer,' also with a star studded cast. How did the two come together to form the internet and cultural phenomenal now known as "Barbenheimer"? Has their pairing caused a jump in ticket sales for both? The boys answer these questions and more.
For this mini-episode, Angus and Will pick and rank their five favourite film posters of the 21st-century.
For this mini-episode, Will shares with Angus the history behind the most recognisable stock sound in cinema—the Wilhelm scream. He also tests him on whether or not the iconic scream has appeared in a variety of films and tv shows; all the way from the Star Wars franchise to Tarantino's films.
The boys are back with a main episode wrapping up everything they've seen over the past month or so, as well as other film/tv news that has interested them. And yes, you read the title correctly, they also talk about what it was like attending the Australian premiere of Warwick Thornton's 'The New Boy' which held a Q&A afterwards with the star and absolute icon, Cate Blanchett.
In this mini-episode, the boys take the ten highest grossing films of all time (when adjusted for inflation) and rank them from worst to best. They also take a look at the highest grossing films without inflation and how Marvel and Disney seem to dominate the industry.
For this mini-episode, Angus and Will take a look at a handful of recent trailers for movies that are set to release this year in 2023 from Martin Scorsese's 'Killers of the Flower Moon' all the way to Jennifer Lawrence comedy 'No Hard Feelings,' and more. What is your most anticipated film for the year, and has its trailer made you more excited, or killed the buzz for you?
This week's mini-episode is more trivia! Angus quizzed Will last time; this time the tables have turned and Will is quizzing Angus by naming four films in ten categories, and asking him to order them from the earliest released, to the newest.
In this weeks episode, the boys cover two different, but in strange ways, similar stories of corruption and politics. Will takes us back to the 40s and 50s of Hollywood, where screenwriter Dalton Trumbo and nine other industry professionals—now dubbed 'The Hollywood Ten'—were charged and sentenced for refusing to testify about whether they were affiliated with the Communist party, resulting in the first major Hollywood Blacklist. Angus tackles what many consider to be one of the greatest films of all time, but one that he finds is overrated and snooze-worthy, 1974s 'The Godfather Part II.'
For this mini-episode, Angus quizzes Will on some general (or not so general) movie knowledge that seems to get more unhinged as the questions go on.
