On this exciting episode of Fishing the DMV, we are heading back to the Chesapeake Bay. Specifically, the Virginia portion of Chesapeake Bay with Chris Moore. Chris previously served as the Senior Regional Ecosystem Scientist at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) and has assumed the role of Executive Director at the CBF Virginia office. Mr. Moore played a pivotal role in establishing sustainable fisheries for striped bass, Atlantic menhaden, and blue crabs, while also contributing to oyster policy and restoration endeavors. Additionally, Moore's advocacy efforts with elected officials at local, state, and federal levels have been instrumental in influencing legislative decisions crucial for enhancing the health of the Bay watershed.

On this exciting episode of Fishing the DMV, we talk about the South Branch on the Shenandoah River with Tommy Lawhorne owner of The South River Fly Shop. Tommy Lawhorne is a seasoned angler with a lifelong passion for fly fishing. He has been exploring the waters of western Virginia for Trout and Smallmouth Bass since his early teens. With over three decades of experience, he began guiding in 1990, offering his expertise to fellow enthusiasts. In 1992, Tommy became actively involved in Trout Unlimited at the Shenandoah Valley Chapter, where he currently holds the position of Chapter President, demonstrating his dedication to conservation and community engagement. In collaboration with his partner Kevin Little, Tommy co-founded the South River Fly Shop in the spring of 2011.
