26: Building a Brand While Raising Babies with Brianna Battles

Before becoming a trailblazer in the pregnancy and postpartum industry, Brianna Battles worked in Corporate Wellness & Collegiate Athletics. Her world was completely rocked by childbirth and motherhood, forcing her to reclaim a new identity and essentially led her into coaching part-time at a local Crossfit gym. Throughout her own experience & coaching, she was really disgruntled by the lack of information available for pregnant and postpartum athletes.

Struggling with her own mental health and a misdiagnosed diastatsis recti, she ultimately became who we all needed in developing the first edition of the Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach Course while she was pregnant with her second son.

If you are a high achieving woman who doesn't want to put their own aspirations and dreams on the back burner just because you are now a mom, this episode is for you!

You can find Brianna on Instagram @brianna.battles and at www.briannabattles.com or www.thepregnantandpostpartumathlete.com.

You can also find Brianna’s podcast on Apple or Spotify, The Practice Brave Podcast.

25: The Highs & Lows of Body Image

There's no denying that our bodies go through an immense amount of physical changes during pregnancy and postpartum. While I know it is a time to be super grateful for these changes, it doesn't mean that we aren't challenged at times with poor body image days.

During this episode, I talk about the highs I experienced with my body image during pregnancy, and the low of lows postpartum. While we all have unique experiences of our own journeys, I hope that some of what I shared will resonate with you in some way.

23: Ironman 70.3 Florida Race Recap

I celebrated 1 year postpartum last month by doing a 70.3 triathlon in Florida! In this episode, I talk about how I was able to rebuild a foundation to be able to train for this race, balancing training and mom life and an overall race recap of my half ironman on December 10th!

At the end of the episode, I give a special shout-out to my coaches and support team that got me to both the start and finish lines healthy!

Lindsay Jana - my initial pelvic floor PT that helped me heal internally so I could function normally again

Casey Thomas - strength coach who helped me get stronger and back to weight lifting confidently with prolapse

Erin Ducat - chiropractor and pelvic rehab specialist who supported my goal of running and helped me become symptom free by September (9 months postpartum)

Katie - endurance coach who helped me start a running program even while I still had prolapse symptoms and progressed me to my half ironman training plan - couldn't have done this without you!

Matthew - for all your support, encouragement and love the entire way.

My parents - who helped with Evy so I could get my training in especially on the weekends!

22: Coping with Postpartum Depression as an Athlete & Mom of 5 with Katie Larsen

Postpartum Depression is raw, real, and often not talked about enough on social media. This can make more moms feel alone and like they are the only ones going through it.

In this episode, I talk to Katie Larsen who is a mom to FIVE young children, including her twin boys she had over the summer! She also home-schools the older children! Katie talks about her own personal experience with PPD, when she got help, and how she utilizes her church community, friends, and family to lean on for support.

When can I do {insert whatever exercise} postpartum?

In this episode, I talk about what a realistic return to exercise postpartum looks like in the first 0-12 months. Please keep in mind that these are rather general recommendations and don't take into account your unique birth circumstances or situations.

If you are dealing with any pelvic floor or core dysfunction postpartum, please seek out a pelvic floor physical therapist in your area and a P&PA (pregnancy & postpartum athletcism) coach that can perform assessments to help your healing process!
