2BC Episode #37 | Acts 4 | How could you remain silent after seeing and hearing this?

Tom & Joe discuss 'Acts 4' and in this chapter we cover many aspects of what is written with the modern world and how what was written applies to it, truly ahead of its time. We discuss the intervention of the Holy Spirit in many things from the beginning up until now and how He acts through words and actions of all kinds through us. We also emphasize the importance of community which, it seems, has been lost throughout time, or at the very least is dwindling as time passes. We conclude by debunking certain myths in regards to Church wealth and its distribution as well as stating that since its foundation, the goal has always been to appropriately distribute that wealth.

This was a very passionate episode and once again we encourage you to share YOUR thoughts! Join us every week as we journey through Season 2 of 2BC and we hope you enjoy the new intro!

    2BC Episode #36 | Acts 3 | Lending a Helping Hand

Tom & Joe discuss 'Acts 3' and in this chapter we cover the importance of miracles in the modern world with simple ACTS of kindness, offered to friends, family and especially strangers. We also explore the importance of becoming more like the Son of Man, and being able to use the apostles or even Church fathers as examples, since they themselves were so close to Christ. Finally, we emphasize leadership by example and being able to, as a follower of Christ, hopefully help the people of the world in turning away from evil ways which are of this world and not the next.

Although this is a short episode, there is much fruit to be discovered in this chapter and we invite you to send us your feedback! Join us every week as we journey through Season 2 of 2BC and we hope you enjoy the new intro!

    2BC Episode #33 | Matthew 28 | RESURRECTION

Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 28' and the resurrection of Jesus, which according to the Gospel of Matthew is very short & sweet (just like this episode). That being said, there will be many other viewpoints to be discussed in the future Gospels. The future of the podcast is discussed throughout the episode and into detail near the end so make sure you stay to hear where we are taking 2BC from here.

    2BC Episode #32 | Matthew 27 - PART 2 | CRUCIFIXION

Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 27' and final days of Jesus, the Son of Man, and the Crucifixion which leads to His death that was foretold. 2BC Episode #31 | Matthew 27 - PART 1 | Duality of God & Man

    2BC Episode #31 | Matthew 27 - PART 1 | Duality of God & Man

Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 27' and final days of Jesus, the Son of Man, and the duality that can be explored with the Governor, Pilate, and both Jesus Barrabas, and Jesus the Messiah. There is also a thought-provoking discussion on the potential mercy towards Judas, the Betrayer and a key view on this matter by St. Leo the Great. There is also a huge plot twist in this episode considering the fate of Jesus and what could have happened if things had been different.

There is also a big emphasis in this episode on Leadership and the role of the Governor and Captains, surrounded by mob mentality or hive minds. That it is a phenomenon in itself and that acts while under this influence must be avoided but if not possible, they must be forgiven. Forgiveness must be unlimited, even in the worst cases.

We loved this part and are looking forward to continuing on to the next part. We would love to have you join us.

2BC Episode #30 | Matthew 26 - PART 2 | Live by the sword, Die by the sword.

2BC Episode #30 | Matthew 26 - PART 2 | Live by the sword, Die by the sword.

Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 26' and the different interpretations that can be found within the second-half of this chapter. We interpret the meaning of having a strong spirit, but weak flesh and how to overcome this. There is also a discussion on whether if you live by the sword, do you actually perish by it as well? Or can you be spared if used justly? Both St. Hilary and St. Rabba offer different opinions on this. The discussion then continues on the power of God and the importance of fate, when Jesus says that his death must come to pass for the greater good of the world.

The closing point from Joe is one that is very profound, and makes you appreciate friendship and brotherhood on a deeper level, where it is said that Peter, after denying Christ three times, was forever changed and lived with sadness in his heart until the very day he was crucified upside down. Stick to the end to hear what is said.

    2BC Episode #29 | Matthew 26 - PART 1 | Betrayers of all kinds

    2BC Episode #29 | Matthew 26 - PART 1 | Betrayers of all kinds

Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 26' and the two types of betrayals you can face; both from loyal friends and disloyal ones. The value of one's true friendship cannot be counted in silver coins... for most. We also discuss the distinction of material and spiritual poverty in the name of God whereas you should always help the poor when given the opportunity and even more so share the word of the Lord. There is also a lesson on humility at all times, especially in regards to one's own faith.

This is the first of a two part episode on this episode describing the beginning of the end of the life of Christ on this Earth.

    2BC Episode #28 | Matthew 25 | Parables of Oil & Virtue

    2BC Episode #28 | Matthew 25 | Parables of Oil & Virtue

Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 25' and the 3 evolving parables covering the required preparation of a Christian. In the first parable, we talk about readiness and compare this to the faith but also everyday life. In the second parable, once ready, we talk about what to do with talents that are given to you. Should you hide them? Multiply them? Share them? What is the best way to optimize spiritual profit? Finally, in the third parable, we amalgamate all pre-discussed points with, once again; love. After everything is over in your life, when you are ready to be judged, have you done enough for your fellow brothers & sisters of this world? Or have you neglected them for your own purpose?

These are all points to ponder about and ask yourself. Hope you enjoy!
