• Fourth Wing and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros - The hype is worth it. This series is so good. Disclaimer - it is not finished. At least one more book coming next year. I burned right through books 1 and 2. 
• If You’ll Have Me by Eunnie -a sapphic graphic novel - legitimately cried a little at the end with how sweet and heartwarming it is. Fans of Heartstopper jump on this.
• The Ladies Rewrite the Rules by Suzanne Allain - author of Mr. Malcolm’s List. - list of eligible rich women widows etc turn the tables and use it for their benefit.  Comes out January 9th, 2024
• Fire in the Flesh by Jennifer L Armentrout – if you missed our interview, make sure you check it out! Plus, we didn’t even talk about her series Blood and Ash being optioned by Amazon Studios.  I burned right through it.

We're back with more delicious DarkHunters! Today we've got Sunshine and Talon giving us a lot of steam and some soul rebirth! 

We learned more about Acheron's past, met his long "dead" twin, and got more representation of different cultures including Native people with Sunshine and her ancestors. Sunshine was a grown woman, with goals, happy to get her rocks off with Talon is a full marathon of sex and then say thank you and have a great life. Talon got a taste and just couldn't stay away!

Book 1 - follows Darrow, a Red, whose wife dies and he gets transformed into gold by the rebels to try to bring down the hierarchical society. One of my favorite sci-fi books - a re-read bc I wanna read the latest book that came out. 5 stars!
  • The Fae Princes by Nikki St Crowe - book 4 of the Lost Boys saga — I liked it. I’m intrigued by Roc (crocodile) in a MMF book, but I was burned by this series not being finished when I burned through books 1-3, so it had a bit of an annoyance for me! But I did like it, and it was smutty, though not as smutty as the earlier books.
  • Knightmaster by Anna Hackett - Since recording I have finished! And book 2 :)  I wanted a quick read that I knew I would enjoy. Anna is such a consistent author for me. Alien romance :)
  • Pucking Wild by Emily Rath - Hockey romance reverse age gap. Steamy, a lot of use of toys SQUEE - We’re reading book 1 Pucking Around, which is mmmf, next month on  the podcast!
  • My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levin - This is a super cute rom com. Liked the premise, and enjoyed the read. Just came out last week!

  • The Gentleman’s Gambit by Evie Dunmore - which comes out in Dec - and she's coming on the podcast in December!  This is book 4 of the League of Extraordinary Women. And book 1 was our favorite book of the year in 2019!

Seriously?! Like have you seen the romance inside this romance novel? We read Lassiter by J.R. Ward, book 21 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. If you didn't know, we re-read books 1-11 on the podcast when we first started releasing books and... 

WTF IS HAPPENING?! 

We were not super optimistic going into the book, and we're sorry to say that we HATED IT! Come hang out with us as we discuss confounding things such as:  

• The romance taking a backseat to everything else
• Lassiter being TOTALLY different in this book
• The timeline! We've said it before in our previous reviews of books 1 -11 but the timeline in these books makes no sense. It legit said it was 3 years since Lassiter dropped down? LIKE why put a number on it?
• Wrath IYKYK if not, be prepared for spoilers
• Devina - but why connect these series?

Y’all this book is a dystopian, why choose, little red riding hood retelling, fantasy, alien romance. There is a LOT of plot to cover in the book. And it felt like when you have aliens who mate in triads with 2 peens each, you really should just get to the smut? Especially since it started out with some mutual cuddling and wet dreams, and then things slowed down a bit. The entire 3rd act really felt like it should have been a sequel to the first book, vs complicating the story.

That said, we oddly enjoyed reading this potato chip book. 3 stars all around and we definitely had fun chatting about it on our podcast review.
