Jess Kerr is a professional cricket player for the New Zealand White Ferns and is the sister of cricket superstar, Amelia Kerr (who was on the show last year).

Throughout this episode, we talk about the health complications that Jess has been dealt with and what these have taught her so far. From being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, Bells-Palsy and compartment syndrome, Jess's story of redemention is bloody inspiring!

Joe Daymond is one of New Zealand's biggest comedians, from living in his car and cleaning toilets, to being the youngest person to sell out SkyCity Theatre at the age of 24. He's also the Founder of the show 'Bouncers', that is featured by Comedy Central.

Wrapping up the final episode of the year, I sat down with Ben Edusei. Ben is an ambassador for Movember, a running coach and a PT. After losing his father, Ben experienced first hand his own mental health struggles when dealing with grief. 

From his own experiences, he's been helping other men to overcome their mental health challenges and has an awesome ability to bring people together around shared causes. Check out his work!

Charles started his company Costal Promotions with $1,000 from his course related costs while studying at university, from putting on multiple gigs, he managed to continue doubling his initial investment. Fast forward to today, he's traveling the country putting on some of NZ's biggest gigs, and launched 'High Tide' a music festival in Wellington that brings together thousands of attendees and international acts.

Devon is a musician from the Kapiti Coast, this kōrero if focused around the adversity he has faced in his life from friends losing their fight with mental health, his partner and unborn child passing away and being tragically involved in a car incident with his mate who was longboarding. Devon share practical tips on how he has overcame challenging times – keep shining a light on mental health brother! 

Devon showcases extreme resilience and I learnt a lot from him during this conversation. His ability to write music and perform, has been crucial in supporting him to overcome low periods in his life.
