If you have owned a property for a long time and it has been an investment property, or vacant, and you have a lot of equity, there are two ways in which you might consider selling it to avoid taxes and avoiding benefit curtailment.

Why do it: The upsides of the installment sale .

Why not do it: Downsides of owner financing.

This could be a way to avoid higher interest rates and help a seller preserve their investment.
