84: 2022 Year in Review: Jason Tartick in the Trading $ecrets Hot Seat!

    enDecember 26, 2022

    Podcast Summary

    • Reflecting on 2022: Jason Tapp Answers the Curious Canadian's QuestionsJason Tapp reflects on his trading performance, insights, and guidance in the most rewarding year of his professional career. He encourages listeners to subscribe, follow, and rate the podcast.

Learning from this episode of Trading Secrets is that the host, Jason Tapp, reflects on the year 2022 by answering questions from the curious Canadian about his trading performance, insights, and guidance. Unlike previous episodes, Jason is the guest, and the curious Canadian takes the hot seat as the host. They discuss various topics, including Jason's financial performance in 2021 and 2022, his thoughts on having life insurance, and his plans for the future. Jason also mentions that this year has been the most rewarding year of his professional career due to the podcast. He encourages listeners to subscribe, follow, and give the podcast a five-star rating. The episode ends with the curious Canadian asking Jason if he made more money in 2021 or 2022, but Jason declines to answer that question yet. Overall, the episode provides insights into Jason's personal and professional life, as well as his thoughts on various financial topics.

    • Jason's rewarding experience with his mom and financial goalsJason's most rewarding deal was taking his mom to the Iheartradio Festival. He aims for financial security by age 50 through a SEP IRA, but faces challenges as a self-employed entrepreneur.

Having a dependent, such as a child, means having a long-term financial responsibility. Jason shared his most rewarding deal of the year, which was taking his mom to the Iheartradio Festival and having the experience be a memorable one for both of them. He also discussed his retirement savings plan using a SEP IRA and his goal to be financially secure by age 50. However, transitioning from a corporate W-2 employee to a self-employed entrepreneur comes with its own challenges, such as unpredictable income and the inability to turn work off completely.

    • Podcast success not determined by guest's following or numbers sharedEngaging audience and excellent content creation skills contribute significantly to podcast success, regardless of guest's following or numbers shared.

The success of a podcast episode is not solely determined by the guest's following or the number of numbers shared during the interview. Surprisingly, the most downloaded podcast of 2022 was with Lindsay Arnold from Dancing with the Stars, who had the least number of numbers shared compared to other top guests like Bachelor Data and Kelly Flanagan. However, Lindsay's engaging audience and excellent content creation skills contributed significantly to her podcast's success. Another interesting observation was that guests with large followings, such as King Science with 25 million followers, did not necessarily translate into high podcast downloads. The variety of guests on the podcast and audience engagement through comments and reviews were also essential factors in its success.

    • The Trading Secrets Podcast Expands Globally, Reaches Top 1% of Most Shared PodcastsIn 2022, the Trading Secrets Podcast reached a global audience in 101 countries, expanded to 51 new countries, gained 78% of new listeners, and generated over $348,000 in ad revenue, making it a top 1% most shared podcast globally.

The Trading Secrets Podcast experienced significant growth in 2022, reaching a global audience in 101 countries, a 51 country expansion from the previous year. Additionally, 78% of new listeners discovered the podcast last year. The podcast's ad revenue also saw a substantial increase, totaling approximately $348,655.80 for the year, surpassing the goal of a mid-six-figure revenue. The podcast's reach and success are a result of the efforts of a team of seven individuals, including Evan, David, Steven, Kaylee, Katie, Jesse, and Blake. Another notable fact is that the podcast is in the top 1% of most shared podcasts globally. These achievements demonstrate the podcast's impact and popularity in the world of trading and finance.

    • Jason Tardick's podcast sees continued success and growthDespite no compensation for guests, Jason Tardick's podcast has seen consistent growth and made him a sought-after figure in personal finance with over $1 million in social media revenue annually

The Jason Tardick podcast, which explores personal finance, has seen significant growth over the past year. Seven people are involved in producing each episode, and despite some guests expressing a desire to be paid, no one has ever been compensated for appearing on the show. Jason Tardick himself revealed that his social media revenue for 2022 exceeded $1 million, matching the figure from the previous year. Despite the passage of time and fewer opportunities due to his past television appearances, Tardick continues to receive a steady influx of invitations to speak and share his financial expertise. The podcast's success and Tardick's expertise have made him a sought-after figure in the personal finance world.

    • Adapting to changes in influencer marketingDespite unpredictable income and need for high-quality content, influencer marketing remains in demand with increasing budgets, making it essential for influencers to adapt and focus on producing top-notch content to secure lucrative deals.

The speaker, despite experiencing changes in the types and size of deals in his social media business, remains confident in his ability to adapt and grow. He acknowledges some concerns about the unpredictability of his income and the need to focus more on content creation and video editing to secure larger deals. However, he also emphasizes that influencing is not going away and that there is still a significant demand for influencer marketing, with budgets continuing to increase even during economic downturns. The key is to ensure that the content being produced is of high quality to attract and retain these lucrative deals.

    • Learning and Adapting in BusinessConsistently create content and seize opportunities, even if financial rewards aren't immediate. Learn from others and apply insights to your business. Diversify revenue streams and adapt to new platforms like TikTok.

The guest, a successful entrepreneur and podcast host, emphasized the importance of consistently creating content and seizing opportunities, even if the financial rewards may not be immediate or as significant as some may expect. He shared his own experiences of learning from podcast guests and applying their insights to his own business. The guest also discussed his revenue streams, including podcasting, Instagram, Cameo, TikTok, and YouTube. He mentioned that while his total revenue may seem impressive, much of it goes towards expenses such as travel, meals, and editing. The guest also noted that he has seen an increase in revenue from TikTok over the past six months, reflecting the growing trend towards advertising on the platform. Overall, the guest's message was one of perseverance, learning, and adapting to new opportunities in the business world.

    • Social media success goes beyond follower countEngagement, community, and PR impact can lead to greater opportunities and earnings than a large following alone

Having a large following on social media is important, but it's not the only factor that determines one's earning potential. Engagement, community, and PR impact also play significant roles. Tyler Cameron, with his 2,000,000 followers on Instagram, may have more followers, but the TikTok star with 7,000,000 followers might have a more engaged community and greater PR impact, leading to bigger opportunities and earnings. The success of Rewired Talent Agency, which helps influencers monetize their social media presence, further emphasizes this point. The agency, which is on track to generate over 2,000,000 to 2,500,000 in gross revenue in a year, shows that having a niche and pivoting at the right time for sustainability purposes can lead to long-term success.

    • Identifying and adding value to a business increases equity and profitsHard work, dedication, and identifying valuable opportunities can lead to significant wealth through building a successful business and investing in equity.

Building a successful business, like Rewired Talent Agency, can lead to significant wealth through the sale of equity. The speakers discussed how Logan Paul's net worth comes primarily from his ownership of Prime, a rapidly growing drink company, rather than his YouTube or fighting income. Similarly, the talent agency they run has the potential to bring in substantial revenue and valuation if it continues to grow. The speakers emphasized the importance of identifying value and adding it to the business to increase equity ownership and potential profits. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of hard work and dedication, as represented by Evan's constant pursuit of new deals and clients for the agency. Overall, the key takeaway is that building a successful business and investing in equity can lead to significant wealth, but it requires hard work, dedication, and identifying valuable opportunities.

    • Importance of self-care for mental and physical healthIdentify exercise, therapy, intermittent fasting, and setting boundaries as essential for mental and physical well-being. Prioritize self-care and personal growth over external demands and judgment.

Maintaining mental and physical health is crucial, and it involves both physical activities like exercise and therapy, as well as setting boundaries to avoid wearing other people's issues. The speaker shared how they were heavily impacted by their investments in cryptocurrency and sports betting, leading to significant financial losses and mental stress. However, they identified exercise, specifically running and lifting, intermittent fasting, and therapy as the key factors that contributed to their best version of mental and physical health in 2022. Conversely, they recognized that wearing other people's issues and not setting boundaries were major contributors to worsening their mental and physical health. The speaker emphasized the importance of recognizing one's own needs and prioritizing self-care to avoid being drained by external demands. Additionally, they acknowledged the need to care less about judgment from others and focus on personal growth.

    • Judgments shape our experiences and create memoriesEmbrace experiences, both positive and negative, for the richness of life. Slow down, communicate openly, and make informed decisions.

People often make judgments to make themselves feel better about their own insecurities or resentments, but it's important to remember that experiences, both positive and negative, shape our lives and create valuable memories. The speaker shared a favorite memory from Toronto filled with friends and family, as well as a difficult experience saying goodbye to a dying grandfather. These moments, whether joyful or painful, are what make up the richness of life. Another key takeaway is the importance of slowing down to gain a clearer perspective and make informed decisions, a trading secret the speaker learned in 2022. Additionally, the speaker emphasized the importance of open and honest communication, as evidenced by their willingness to share personal experiences on the podcast.

    • Focus on impactful projects and reduce risksSlow down to speed up, prioritize projects with significant impact, diversify income streams, and reduce social media use in 2023.

To make progress in life and business, it's essential to assess whether our actions are moving the needle or just keeping us running in place like a hamster on a wheel. In 2023, focusing on slowing down to speed up by working on projects that have the potential to significantly impact our lives and legacies is crucial. Additionally, diversifying income streams and reducing reliance on social media is a necessary step to mitigate risks. The year 2023 is predicted to be a wild ride with highs and lows, and being less risk-averse and open to new opportunities is encouraged. Overall, being a part of this podcast and learning from its guests and community is an enriching experience that provides valuable insights and serves as an escape from the daily grind.

    • A Year of Growth and Change for Trading Secrets HostsThe Trading Secrets hosts anticipate a year of personal and professional growth, including a trading secrets tour, a new baby, and continued podcast growth. They encourage listeners to focus on their own journeys and provide discussions on budgeting and preparing for a child.

2023 is expected to be a significant year of growth and change, both personally and professionally, for the hosts of Trading Secrets. They are looking forward to a trading secrets tour, the birth of a new baby, and continued growth in their podcast. The hosts encourage their audience to stay healthy, happy, and focused as they navigate their own personal and professional journeys. 179. Howie Mandel bought his first house thanks to a glove?! The BTS of his illustrious career from standup comedy to advocating for mental health & the $$$ behind it
This week, Jason is joined by standup comedian, actor, TV Host, and executive producer Howie Mandel!

Having remained a constant force in showbiz for decades,  he has diversified his skillset by wearing as many different hats as possible in TV, film, and even the podcast space hosting his own show with his daughter, Jacqueline, Howie Mandel does stuff. 173.  Joey Graziadei & Kelsey Anderson, Bachelor Nation’s newly engaged couple reveal the $$$ behind their careers pre show, navigating the spotlight, and making major moves professionally and personally
    Episode Description:
This week, Jason is joined by Bachelor Nation’s newly engaged couple and fan favorites Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson!

Joey walked away from his lead role on The Bachelor this past season after asking Kelsey to marry him. Since their season wrapped, Joey and Kelsey have spent their time traveling and spending as much time together as an engaged couple. Having come from two different career paths and geographical locations (Joey a tennis pro in Hawaii and Kelsey a project manager in New Orleans), they are now faced with the deciding factor of what is next for them personally and professionally.

Joey and Kelsey reflect on meeting fans at CMAfest and their impact on their audience, what goes into teaching tennis, where they saw their careers going prior to the show, how Kelsey and Joey ended up on the show, what role Jason played in Joey’s journey, and having important conversations in the fantasy suite. Kelsey and Joey also dive into the decision for Joey to move in with Kelsey in New Orleans, where they see their careers moving post show, discussing the influencer space and navigating other people being worried about their finances, and a few rapid fire questions. How many times has Kelsey been nominated for The Bachelor? Where do they plan on moving after the lease ends? What other reality show would they love to do?

Kelsey & Joey reveal all that and so much more in another episode you can’t afford to miss!

    Host: Jason Tartick
    Co-Host: David Arduin
    Audio: John Gurney
Guests: Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson
