94th Oscars preview; plus, The Batman (brief thoughts) | Ep. #33

After life got busy for a while for the guys, they're back to talk about what they watched/caught up with when they had time to spare.

The guys  catch up after a short break to talk about Bullet Train, The Gray Man, Top Gun: Maverick and Stranger Things 4...amongst other things. 

The guys are back again after another small break in the programming schedule! Today, they talk about the recent season of Stranger Things, a patient-viewer's perspective after their first time viewing of Fleabag, and the TV shows they would use to to teach a screenwriting  class.

They just talk about these topics in reverse order...

In 2008, the American Film Institute (aka the AFI)  unveiled a series of lists ranking their choices for the Top 10 greatest films in 10 different genres. 14 years later, the guys think it's due for an update.

So today, the guys discuss what films they would include in their own handpicked genres. But there's just one thing: they "invented" their own genres, so as to be as inclusive to as many films as possible. 

After another brief delay, the guys are back to catch up with all they've watched since the last episode. Some topics that were talked about (in chronological order):

Life got busy for the guys, forcing them to have to postpone the past two weeks. But now they're back, and to ease in to the groove of things, the guys take it easy and spend the episode catching up on what they watched and what news happened while they were gone.

Somehow, the guys completely missed when The New York Times unveiled their list of the Top 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century in 2020. So what better way to dive into it for the first time then with 2 years worth of hindsight? This week, the guys go through their list celebrating actors and actresses from across the world, giving their thoughts on each entrant, and choosing who they felt was snubbed.

Also, they give a brief Oscars recap (admittedly, with not much time dedicated to *that* incident however) and highlight The Tragedy of Macbeth, as Luke finally watched it for the first time.

We're one Sunday away from the Oscars! The guys give their thoughts on the movies they drafted last week, while looking at who the favorites are going into the weekend. Plus, they take some time to talk about The Batman, the biggest movie release of the past month.

This week, the guys provide an update on the state of video game adaptions, both incoming and already released, since the hiatus. Plus, they touch on the release of The Batman and give a preview of what they expect (since nobody had seen it yet at the time of recording), and Nick takes a quick victory lap for predicting the latest news to come from Crunchyroll and Funimation.

What was supposed to be a brief hiatus and a November return turned into a longer than expected break into the new year, but the boys are back! Catch up with they guys as we Nick, Eric, and Luke catch up with what kept them so busy over the past few months! Plus, with the announcement of the Oscar nominations, the guys draft which movies they will Make the Case for!
