    A gifted and passionate visionary with enormous capacity as one of this country’s new and emerging leaders, Chaplain Cole Knapper, is a rising star in the American Progressive movement and an absolute force to be reckoned with.

    A highly decorated former military officer, Chaplain Karen-Nicole “Cole” Knapper is a Post 9/11 U.S. Army Veteran, a Cyber-Technology expert, and a nationally-known Human Rights activist.
    During her career, she deployed on Four (4) separate combat tours of duty to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was awarded the prestigious Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB) years before Women were allowed to serve in combat roles, and was awarded two Bronze Star Medals for her exemplary service during wartime, including once as a Corporal (2002) and then again as a Captain in command of troops while in a combat zone (2010).

    Incarcerated Black Men Used as Political Pawns

    Our Special Guest , Brother Willie X Brown, a Richmond Virginia resident and Returning Citizen, served 35 years and 11 months in the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Corrections. Since being released November 30, 2018, Brother Willie X has spoken at a Prison Reform Rally, advocated and spoken in support of Bills at the State General Assembly for the incarcerated, advocated with family members at Parole Interviews on behalf of their loves confined, and currently a part of a newly formed Criminal Justice Committee formed by Brenda Cole's Brown, the President of the Richmond VA Chapter for The National Action Network organization.

    Brother Willie has done Facebook lives on the effects that COVID 19 has on prison and the justice system. This led to an interview with a news reporter in Roanoke about how the justice system does not properly handle COVID 19 in regards to inmates.#SandraWilson of #BlackConnectionsLLC conducted a live interview with Brown to discuss both his community works and his sports apparel brand, Bordaline Unlimited LLC. #blackconnectionsllc and the Returning Citizens Changing the Narrative did a documentary about his time before, during, and after prison living.

    Brown currently runs his own sports apparel company with intentions of starting his own fitness brand and sports agency. He is in the process of growing an empire that involves using previous
    experiences to encourage and empower the youth of Richmond’s growing inner city environment.

Brenda is a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault and she believes that those violent traumas in her life made her an even stronger activist. Brenda attended Virginia Western Community College and majored in mental health and social work so that she could help other women, children, and men that suffered abuse. Brenda has been working in the field of social justice/civil rights for about 39 years as well as having worked on local, state, and national campaigns for about 30 of those years. Throughout her many years of advocacy, she is proud and honored to be serving her second term as the Richmond Virginia National Action Network Chapter President.
