    Britain's great tax delusion

    Britain's great tax delusion

Rishi Sunak earned almost £5m in the past three years, yet this was only taxed at a rate of 22%. Britain's tax system is broken, focusing on income rather than wealth, and it seems like no one plans on doing anything about this.

Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves has explicitly stated that should Labour come into power, a wealth tax will not be introduced. In this episode, staff writer Harry Lambert sets out how Labour could raise £28billion by adopting a wealth tax, and how this could help narrow the gap between Asset Britain and Austerity Britain.

    EmergencyCast: You Only Lose Twice
The Tories have been trounced in the latest by-elections – who’d have guessed that would happen?! Sunak’s colleagues blamed a low turnout for the results in Kingswood and Wellingborough – is that fair? Or is the Tory electorate collapsing? What can we learn from these by-elections and what does this indicate, if anything, for the upcoming general election? Andrew Harrison is joined by Ros Taylor in an emergency edition.  “There was a feeling people might turn a little against Labour, but that has not happened.” – Ros Taylor “I think Sunak will be wondering how he can emerge from this with any personal dignity intact.” – Ros Taylor www.patreon.com/ohgodwhatnow Presented by Andrew Harrison with Ros Taylor.
