It is always a pleasure to talk to Dr. Joseph A. Resnick, Ph.D. and his business partner Joy Mann. Tonight we talked about a new food to help the endangered bee population. Resnick held the appointment as Principal Research Fellow at the University of Malaysia Terengganu, Institute of Marine Biotechnology, Terengganu, Malaysia where he had oversight of five research projects. He recently left that position to lead international projects in China, South America, Europe and the USA for RMANNCO, Inc. He earned the Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the Union Institute and University based on his research and collaboration with NASA to develop new environmentally-friendly products that use beeswax to cleanup oil spills. That work led to development and commercialization of an arsenal of eco-friendly sustainable oil spill cleanup products, e.g., BioBoom, BioSOK and PRP resulting in his induction into NASA’s Spinoff Hall of Fame in 1996. After a fifteen-year stint as Chief Scientist for a multi-national company involved with large-scale bioremediation projects, he decided to return to academia and continue his research focusing on the characterization of beeswax and biopolymers produced by the Apis Melifera and Apis Melipona. Presently his work is dedicated to developing new, low-toxicity integrated pest management products/methods designed to protect honeybees from infestation by trachea and varroa mites and to aid in circumvention of colony collapse disorder in honeybee populations worldwide. In addition to lecturing, Dr. Resnick is a regular contributor to various international scientific journals and recently collaborated on a manuscript with friend and colleague, Prof. Ronald Stewart, entitled, ANGSTROM-MICROSCOPY: THE NEXT GENERATION IN EXPERIMENTAL MICROSCOPY. Dr. Resnick currently resides in the USA. Most fans will remember Paul Henreid as the brooding Composer Robert Schumann in Song of Love. Good friend and comrade German teacher, Max Staefel in Goodby Mr. Chips or the tortured husband in a bad marriage in Now Voyager. Perhaps fans remember him as the patriot Victor Laszlo in Casablanca. In fact he was non and all of these characters and so much more. Born into a family with prestige, he would rub elbows with Austria's elite. After his fathers death he learned to deal with hard times. Not having the educational advantages to become a doctor he turned all his passion to acting. He was black listed three times. He became collateral damage of the McCarthy witch hunts. For five years he would not be able to act in the medium he had given so much too. He married the love of his life. A story that reads like a romance novel. He reinvented himself time and again. He never lost his dignity, devotion or strength. Of course for every hero there is a heroine. Throughout eight seasons and decades of reruns in syndication, The Donna Reed Show became part of American popular culture and, in 1997, Petersen was honored by the Young Artist Foundation with its Former Child Star "Lifetime Achievement" Award for his role on the series.[3] After The Donna Reed Show ended, Peterson had a small role as Tony Biddle in the 1967 musical film The Happiest Millionaire.[4] He also appeared in many guest roles, including one as a military officer in the short-lived 1967 ABC western series Custer, with Wayne Maunder in the title role. Eventually fate intervened and Arch Hall Jr was introduced to aviation. He eventually became a pilot with the famous Bob Prescott's Flying Tiger Line.
