We start this year with a who dunnit mystery. Where did Tasmanias cheap heating tariff 41 go?

Its been a stalwart of Tasmanian homes for years, allowing us to heat our home cheaply in Winter but its no longer available to new accounts and old accounts will have it removed in certain circumstances.

The whole obsoletion process was done very serupticously at the end of last year. No notice and very little chance of reply. A energy tax on Tasmanians by stealth in this cost of living crisis.

None of this can be done without the Energy ministers sign off and his details, if you want to want to protest this 185% increase in cost to heat your home, are as follows.

This has been an ongoing issue and the state government has made it clear they are 100% completely for north west coasters getting ripped off. DMS Energy and Master Electricians have approached the relevant state ministers to do something and buyer beware was their belated & weak response.

In the absence of any ethical leadership from our state representatives it's left to us as a community to stamp out these rogues by having this conversation and taking action to protect those at risk of these predatory sales tactics.
