    About this Episode

We all have our habits and our faults for why we have aches or pains that come and go through our bodies.  How we hold ourselves, sit, walk, and stand all play an important role in the function of our muscles, the organ systems related to the muscles, and the harmony of the systems to work together to create health and wellness through daily healing.

If you have been sitting at your desk for long periods, driving in a hunched position repeatedly day after day, or doing repetitive actions with your work that keep your body in an imbalanced pattern, then this podcast is for you.

I share details about the emotions related to the neck, center, and lower back.  I also highlight some simple tools to get you started on a plan to release tension in the body and support proper posture.

As always, a listen to this podcast creates balance and flow for a healing session while you listen.

    The card deck highlighted is:

    Finding Your Compass

    Finding Your Compass

We all can remember that favourite storybook that we read over and over.  The one our parents could recite in their sleep.  We also can remember the characters and the moral of the story.  These are the lessons we likely still live by today when we are searching for that right answer, or that right choice to move forward.

My guest today, Paul Collins, is the owner of Moonlight Puppies, a publishing company that specializes in writing children’s books that demonstrate strong, life-long principles.  With beautiful illustrations and character development, can reach the heart of every child’s imagination as they listen to and learn to read his books.

As you consider the programs your children may be involved in, and I am aware of the characters now a part of my grandson’s life, we need to look at the messages those characters are sharing, and how we support our youth to be their very best, one good book at a time.

Be Proud of Who You Are

Our guest today, Yvette Cole, is a kindergarten teacher, and a children’s author.  Celebrating Black History Month, her book: “Harriet’s Dinner Party” is being brought to the forefront for shining a lens on some important history that has been invisible to many of us through the decades.  Her frustration with not being able to show the reality and the richness of black history for North America created her first story.

Our conversation sheds a light on how we can help our youth and our community to grow and understand many aspects of history and connection.

    Transformation through our Guides

    Transformation through our Guides

Today’s podcast is taking a deep dive into guides, transformation and knowledge we can gain from the other side.  I am joined by Laura Hoorweg who is a gifted Intuitive Counselor/Coach and Clairvoyant Medium. She started her spiritual journey at the tender age of 11 in search of God and the Angels, visiting multiple churches and places of worship by herself, even though she was not raised in a spiritual or religious family. She had an extraordinary transcendental out-of-body experience on the top of a cliff at the age of 15 which changed her concept of this world and what lies beyond it forever.

Laura also took a pilgrimage to Costa Rica, Peru, Hawaii, and Brazil where she spent time healing and looking towards her next transformation.  Together we will be exploring the idea of transformation and our opportunity to have guidance along the way, but also a way to connect with our guides.

If these ideas are new to you, this podcast will have you thinking differently about how you are supported every day.  And, if this is a subject you have spent time in already, then let Laura lead you into new insights and opportunities with her wealth of experience and insights.

Living Life with Meaning into our Golden Years

Living Life with Meaning into our Golden Years

I am delighted to be able to watch my parents and my husband’s father thriving in their eighties.  They have embraced their golden years in a way that continues to give to others and to know that their actions, words, and passion to help others make a difference.

On my last visit to my parents, it was an unexpected trip and so my dad was not able to find someone to take his paper route that he does in the middle of the night.  He is awake while many of us are asleep, and he sleeps in two stints during the day.  On this visit, he was trying to get in his visiting time while maintaining his sleeping arrangement that works for him.  We were talking about the stress of the hours, but he delights in the quiet time, his chance to see amazing sunrises, and connect with other paper carriers who work the late night shift.  He exclaimed to me that having a purpose and a connection was important and it kept him going. As much as the hours are hard, I agree with him.

I should add that both of my parents teach Tai Chi several days a week and are devoted to their club.  They both practice on their own as well to stay sharp and ready for teaching, and they know how to work through their physical challenges of stiff knees and hands, sore backs or neck, as they both have a set routine that they are devoted to.

My father-in-law jumped out of a plane for a tandem jump last month to raise a significant amount of money for hospice, and then he went soaring down a zip line.  His work with the Lion’s Club for decades had him involved in the community in many worthwhile projects.  He is still devoted to supporting community events and activities and is one of the most active members at his apartment complex.

There are many stories of exuberant seniors who run circles around us younger folk, but I want to dive into some of the insights of today’s guest.  Returning to share more of her wisdom as a medical doctor and the patients she has watched grow old over the years and thrive or wither as they have aged is Dr. Marianne Bette. In our last podcast episode we discussed her book “Living with a Grieving Heart,” and today I am excited to hear about what Marianne has learned across her years helping others.

Retired from her practice in Connecticut, Dr. Bette brings us some of the wisdom and stories that are a part of her next book.

Gratitude and Forgiveness - Compassionate Living

Gratitude and Forgiveness - Compassionate Living

Over the last few years, we have certainly had our challenging times.  It can be hard to focus on the good things in life or the gifts brought to us as we endeavor to get past the challenges, roadblocks, or misfortunes we have encountered.

In Lok Hup, a form of moving meditation that is a part of my Tai Chi practice, we have a movement called “Stop the Cart and Ask for Directions.” That is, do we wish to live a thriving life or are we choosing death and decay.  I appreciate knowing there is a choice at the start of the set, because moving forward with the patterns provides a step forward to living and thriving.

How we approach situations and the heart we bring to them are very important.  Today we are looking at the power of gratitude and forgiveness to release stress and tension in our lives.  How can we look at our challenges and celebrate our ability to find the way through?  How can we forgive ourselves and others when choices might not have been the best for everyone?

As we bring Charlene Waines into the conversation and her latest activities and support for the Moyo family in Milawi.  We will be exploring perspective and heart-centered living.  We all need a reality check to return to thriving and healing in our living, join us to find the tips and tools that will take you there.

    Dare to Change Course

    Dare to Change Course

It is so easy to become a slave to our patterns and habits of living.  Once we find that groove that makes life easy, we fall into it and excel at keeping that space supported.  This can be things like starting the day with a caffeinated beverage to wake us up.  Having a snack from the favourite vendor near work.  Buying a gym membership or signing up for an exercise class, and getting started with it, but not really loving it, and eventually not finishing the membership, then buying a new membership thinking things will change.  Perhaps, walking every morning the same route with the same pace and challenges.  It may seem that I am dishing your favourite wellness habit at the moment, but bear with me. We all have good intentions.

My guest today, Michelle Abraham, knows all about patterns and behaviour as she has built a very successful award-winning business in the podcast industry called Amplifyou, North America’s top podcast management company.  She started as a podcaster herself, then branched out to help launch over 100 podcasts to help more people get their message out.  So what does this have to do with habits for wellness?  Michelle’s podcast business, winning Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022,  supports podcasters in the wellness industry.  She knows all about patterns and behaviours as she has heard their messages, and she has also understood their own patterns of intention for success with their podcast, but has realized the right program to make them successful on a grander scale.

Our story does not stop there however, as Michelle has also realized there is more to the story for healers and has ventured beyond her initial podcast focus, into High Vibe Visionary’s.  She has changed her own patterns and habits to realize more of what she is truly made of.  Transformation requires grit and intuition, passion, and letting go.  Get ready to learn some incredible ideas from a true inspiration.

You can find Michelle Abraham at  https://www.amplifyounetwork.com/

Michelle is a super mom to two incredible kids and an avid traveler. She's also the voice behind not one, but two podcasts – Amplifyou and Blissful Parenting.

In her latest venture, Michelle is thrilled to introduce "Amplifying Your Voice, Vision & Visibility with Masterminds & Aligned Adventures." This immersive experience is designed to elevate your vibe, align your business, and nourish your soul. Through the PACES framework – Podcasters, Authors, Content Creators, Entrepreneurs, and Speakers – Michelle will delve deep into the three pillars of Visibility, Readiness, Resources, and Relationships.
