Historically, Lent has been a time of self-deprivation, reflection, repentance, and renewal. The church has called its faithful to deny themselves for a season and to pick up their cross and follow Christ. As we do, we are reminded not only of our moral failings and the mortal demise they inevitably reap, but we’re also challenged by the cultural comfortability and the call to live differently as Christ, Himself, has done.
Live with a resolve to trust in that which matters most. Luke 4:1-13
Live with the freedom to live out God’s purpose for your life. Luke 13:31-35
Live with the pursuit of a repentant heart. Luke 13:1-9
Live with the unashamed love for the wrecked and broken. Luke 15:1-3; 11-32
Live with the desire to give all we have to God. Luke 7:36-50
Live with the desire to proceed with a righteous intent. Luke 19:28-40
Live Triumphantly (Easter) Luke 24: 1-7

Every new year well-intended resolutions are made by people just like us hoping to improve some area of life. Resolutions range from diet changes, physical exercise, financial freedom, business goals, and church attendance. But as we know, many resolutions are short-lived because we are thinking too big, not ready for the change, or we are not considering the “why” behind the resolution.
Whether church attendance and/or participation is a new resolution or a continued commitment, we are planning to begin a new year together by considering the “why” behind what we do. In other words, What’s the Point?
This series will include:
Jan. 07 What’s the point of gathering?
Jan 14 What’s the point of preaching?
Jan 21 What’s the point of singing?
Jan 28 What’s the point of financial giving?
Feb 04 What’s the point of serving?
Feb 11 What’s the point of communion/baptism?
Considering and understanding the “why” behind CHURCH is a simple, powerful, and actionable idea that connects us with the heart of God and his plan to redeem the world. We hope you can join us at the point as we begin a new year together being the church!
