Ruth started writing a blog where she get to mix them all together and hopeuth fully inspire you to cook up your own adventures – in your kitchen and your life! Cookin’ Up Adventures was born after her first three week trip to Thailand many years ago. Until that point the only Thai dish she had eaten was Pad Thai. Ruth was not the most adventurous eater, so she resigned herself to eating Pad Thai for lunch & dinner every day for 3 weeks. In Chiang Mai she signed up for a cooking class and learned about some of the ingredients that make up most of Thai cooking: lemongrass, Kaffir lime, fish sauce, chili, plus some familiar ingredients like basil, ginger, shallot, and garlic. Then her cooking teacher told Ruth at a restaurant she can always request to have chili or any ingredient, Ruth didn’t like removed from her dish.
