"The Summer of 1984" by Michelle Lau and Quan
A fairy tale by Michelle Lau and Quan. "The Summer of 1984" was shortlisted in the Sydney Tropfest Film Festival in 2007.
This short animated film cohesively blends both 2D and 3D elements to create a unique visual style that compliments the quirky, crude humour of the piece.
The film mocks the cheesy 1950's style in which an over enthusiastic narrator aids an awkward teenager in removing his acne. Throughout this wacky adventure, our protagonist is forced to undertake the most peculiar methods, with often cringe worthy results.

Broke:Kabel is the live collaboration between turntablist Broke and Kabel. The natural integration of turntablism into the performance underscores the strong focus development and experimentation within the music. Sets are broken up into brackets, with tricksets and beat juggling allowing for a much stronger live component to the show.
Kable is the audio project by Tom Phillipson, a Sydney based musician and designer. Squarely in the left field of hip hop with heavy electronic influences, Kabel examines the space outside the common misunderstanding of what is meant by hip hop. Working with musicians such as acclaimed cellist Peter Hollo from Sydney Quartet Fourplay, as well as lyricists Andy B, 13th Son, Ecoluddit and Urthboy from Australian hip hop WÜNDERKIND THE HERD.

This music video was one of the items in the band press. It was composed from 4000 over long exposure photographs, they've been strung together the way stop-motion films are made to synchronize the lights of the night to the music. The video depicts a drive at night, and images fast and furious over a contemplative journey.
