Episode 26: Reimagining the Role of Video (Guest-Sud Bhatija)

Welcome to Ep 26 of Radwell Automation Nation.

In this episode, we speak to Sud Bhatija, co-founder of Spot AI. Spot AI is a groundbreaking video intelligence company committed to being the easy button for video footage.

Animated by the question “Why wouldn’t business owners who are used to looking at a $10 Amazon package on their front porch, also want to monitor the expensive equipment in their business?” Sud and his two co-founders were motivated to start their company Spot AI

Sud will share how he’s helped innovative companies gain an edge by transforming their outdated video security systems into modern video intelligence solutions.

It’s a great topic that is certainly relevant in today’s business and  manufacturing landscapes.

Episode 25: How Radwell Can Help Your Operation

Episode 25: How Radwell Can Help Your Operation

Welcome to Ep 25 of Radwell Automation Nation.

In this episode, we are going to get a bit more personal. I want to share with you a bit about Radwell International.

We provide a lot of products, services and resources to many companies in just about any industry there is. For those who don’t know much about us or what we do, it can get confusing.

Normally this podcast isn’t a platform we use as an advertising tool because that is not what it’s about. But we recently produced a new About Us video, outlining who we are and what we do. Since I know that everyone does not watch videos, I decided to take this opportunity to share some of that video with our listeners in audio form. So here we are and let’s get started.

Episode 24: Rob and Julie Have A Chat

Episode 24: Rob and Julie Have A Chat

Welcome to Ep 24 of Radwell Automation Nation.

In the previous 23 episodes of this podcast, we have shared a lot of information and had a variety of guests join us. We’ve introduced you to manufacturers. We’ve discussed topics relevant to the manufacturing industry with internal and external subject matter experts. We’ve discussed ways to solve operational problems.

In this episode, we are going a little off the normal path. Not too far off but a bit off.

Are you intrigued? Well, if you aren’t you should be. Because this episode is: Get to Know Your Hosts. And Rob and I are awesome. Right, Rob?

Rob and I are going to have a discussion about a variety of topics, mostly related to business, to give you a behind the scenes look at who we are and what we bring to the table.

When he isn’t co-hosting this podcast with me, Rob is the Branch Manager of Radwell’s location in Franklin, Indiana. He has been with Radwell for 15 years. He began his Radwell career in 2007 in the IT department as an IT Systems Administrator. He has a background in electronics, building network switching systems and surface mount circuit boards as well as a background in sales. Soon he assumed the role of IT Operations Manager with Radwell and absorbed the IT support team while building the Network infrastructure team. This team built Radwell’s Global network when the company expanded into Europe and Canada.

IN 2014 he accepted the role as Branch Manager for the first expanded branch in the US in Indiana. He relocated his family, and worked to build the Indiana team, complete the build out of the operation we acquired, as well as growing the business. Radwell Indiana grew from $8 million in total revenue in 2014 to $27.4 million at the completion of 2021.

    Now let’s talk about Julie.

Julie is in charge of Radwell’s Multimedia and has worked for Radwell for almost 8 years.

She brings a lot of experience to her role at Radwell. She has been a professional photographer for many years and she is also a video content creator, a video producer, a writer, a podcaster, a small business social media and marketing coach and a voiceover artist. And that’s when she isn’t at work at Radwell.

Prior to joining Radwell, she segued a successful corporate operations management career (in multiple industries) into owning and operating her own art gallery representing over 200 American artists. She also owned her own

Episode 21: Aviation Engineering Opportunities (Guest Mike Bonto)

Episode 21: Aviation Engineering Opportunities (Guest Mike Bonto)

Welcome to Ep 21 of Radwell Automation Nation.

In this episode, we are going to talk about something that recently came across my radar as an interesting topic. I spoke to Rob about it and we figured out listeners might find the topic interesting as well. So here we are.

Our guest in this episode is Michael Bonto and our topic is aviation opportunities for engineers. Let’s give Mike a proper introduction.

Ever since he can remember, Mike’s been fascinated by any type of aircraft or anything aerospace related. In 1987, he took his first intro ride in a single engine two seat airplane, which led to him eventually earning his pilot certificate and ratings. Since then, he has always been involved in aviation directly or indirectly. It has taken him through many wonderful experiences, from meeting and interacting with aviation professionals, private pilots, and fun flights to running a flying club and flying school.

Mike currently runs a program for Innovation Engineering in Aeronautics. The program is South Jersey Aero Foundation. The goal of this program is to inspire the further pursuit of a career in aviation and aeronautical engineering while developing the necessary foundation of technological and analytical skills. This will be achieved through the completion of small projects designed to introduce current technologies that are directly applicable to problems in aviation.

If anyone is qualified to discuss opportunities for engineers in the aviation field, it’s definitely Mike Bonto.

    Episode 20: Field Service Stories

    Episode 20: Field Service Stories

Rob and I were talking recently about the variety of products and service Radwell offers and it got me thinking. The basis of everything we do is to keep our customers operations running. We offer a ton of products and services with that one purpose in mind. One of those offerings is field service engineering. Field Service Engineering is when Radwell engineers and repair technicians go onsite at a customer’s manufacturing facility to help them troubleshoot through issues.

Now, we don’t like to brag, but we do want to give proper credit to the amazing repair and engineering teams we have at Radwell. They navigate all kinds of issues with all kinds of parts and manufacturers successfully. We thought it might be interesting to have a chat with two of those amazing people. The two we are speaking with in this episode are from our Engineering Dept at Radwell headquarters in NJ. They have often been tasked to head out to customer locations on behalf of Radwell and help in whatever way they can.

Randy Bracy  is Director of Engineering at Radwell. He has been with the company for 11  years and he is one of those people that can literally fix anything. It’s just the way his brain works.

Brandon Buehler is Engineering Production Manager. He has been with Radwell for 13  years. He is also a wizard when it comes to the ins and outs of industrial automation parts and products. He is also a repair genius with a natural ability to fix mechanical and electronic things.

In this episode, Randy and Brandon  give us a behind the scenes look at some stories from their time working on field service for customers.

Episode 19: Managing Supply Chain Struggles (Guest Marcin Krzączkowski)

Episode 19: Managing Supply Chain Struggles (Guest Marcin Krzączkowski)

Welcome to Ep 19 of Radwell Automation Nation.

In this episode we have a special guest connecting with us all the way from Poland. Our guest is Marcin Krzączkowski, founder of Automa.Net. He will introduce us to some market insights and supply chain insights gained from his platform.

Automa.Net was started at the same time when many companies started to face global supply chain problems and ever-increasing lead time and shortages. We’ll be discussing ways to manage supply chain struggles.

Marcin graduated both from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore before making his strides in business and technology. After successfully launching and running software house skydigo.com, he started a career in building products for industrial markets. In 2018, he co-founded FluidPowerNet, a marketplace platform for hydraulic and pneumatic companies that integrated hundreds of distributors and trade companies worldwide.

Having a team of people experienced in designing, developing and launching digital products, he decided to face another challenge on the market. After many hours spent on meetings - his claims exceeding 100 - with industrial automation professionals, he decided to launch a platform that would help companies operating in this dynamic sector. Five months of hard work later and the platform launched with its official opening taking place on March 1 2021. Automa.Net makes it easier to search through hundreds of warehouses and web storefronts with industrial automation products - all in one place.

In this episode, Marcin shares his knowledge and experience with supply chain management and gives insights into how to positive impact your supply chain moving forward.

Episode 18: Waste Management Tips for IT Assets (Guest Chris Regan)

Episode 18: Waste Management Tips for IT Assets (Guest Chris Regan)

Today’s topic is definitely important in the business world and especially in the manufacturing world. All those PLCs that are in use in an industrial automation environment may, at some point, need to be disposed of. Do you know the proper way to manage your manufacturing IT assets when it’s time to dispose of them?

Joining us for today’s episode is Chris Regan, President and Founder of CLR Solutions. CLR Solutions is a specialized electronic recycling/refurbishing and data security services firm. When it comes to data security, having peace of mind is important. CLR Solutions has a mission: to be a trusted partner in data management and security for their customers.

Chris has had a passion for technology and a mouse in his hand since he was six years old. According to his bio, the only thing he is more passionate about than technology is helping his clients recover as much of their investment in IT assets as possible. For the majority of his career, Chris has worked in various areas of IT. He has a B.A. in Information Technology and Management Information Systems, and an M.S. in Organization Management – both from NJIT.

Chris established CLR Solutions in 2008, and quickly achieved status as an official Microsoft Registered Refurbisher. CLR is also NAID and Department of Defense certified. As a result of Chris’ passion, dedication, and leadership, CLR Solutions has emerged as a leader in IT Asset Management, Data Security, and Investment Recovery.

In this episode, Chris discusses waste management security for IT equipment in a manufacturing environment. He provides some tips for plant managers to help manage this sensitive but important area of operations.
