Bringing Our Girl Friends on the Show! Dropouts #139

    en-usFebruary 21, 2023

    Podcast Summary

    • Discussing Personal Experiences and Imaginary FriendsThe podcast Dropouts featured guests Ella Pria and others sharing their personal experiences, including an imaginary friend, and the hosts brought them on to break up the monotony of talking to themselves.

The conversation between the hosts and their guests on the podcast Dropouts was light-hearted and covered various topics, including their own personal experiences. Ella Pria, one of the guests, shared that she had an imaginary friend named Tyler, who was supposed to be her twin, but she had eaten him in the womb. They also discussed their age and experiences in high school, including puberty and relationships. The hosts mentioned that they brought the guests on the show because they were tired of talking to themselves and wanted some company. They also joked about LeBron James and his potential offspring with one of the guests. Overall, the conversation was casual and entertaining, with the hosts showing their sense of humor and making the guests feel welcome.

    • Approaching women with respect and understandingApproach women naturally with respect and understanding, starting with eye contact and casual conversation, while respecting their boundaries.

Approaching women requires respect and understanding of their comfort levels. It's important to make sure they want to be approached before making a move. Eye contact can be a sign of interest, but it should be natural and not forced. Starting a casual conversation is a good way to initiate contact without coming on too strong. However, it's essential to respect their boundaries and not pressure them into anything. In a scenario where you can't tell if a woman wants to be approached, starting a conversation at the bar can be an option. But it's crucial to avoid being creepy or giving off the wrong intentions. Overall, the key is to be respectful, attentive, and genuine in your approach.

    • Communication and Planning are Key to a Successful DateEffective communication and planning before and during a date can lead to a positive and enjoyable experience. Discuss preferences on the app, consider Ubering separately, and be respectful and clear in your conversation.

Effective communication and planning are crucial elements in setting up a successful date. During the conversation, both parties discussed the importance of having a conversation on the dating app before meeting in person, as well as the potential benefits of Ubering separately and then deciding whether to drive back together or separately depending on how the date goes. They also shared their preferences for opening lines and conversation starters, emphasizing the importance of humor but avoiding humor matches. The conversation also touched on the importance of being respectful and not being overly forward or pushy. Ultimately, the key takeaway is that clear and respectful communication, as well as careful planning, can help ensure a positive and enjoyable dating experience.

    • Navigating conversations with humor and GIFsBe mindful of audience and context when using humor, and prioritize deeper connections in relationships

Communication, especially in casual conversations, can be a playful and creative exchange. However, it's important to be mindful of the audience and the context to avoid confusion or discomfort. Ella and Jared shared their experiences of using humor and GIFs to navigate conversations when they didn't know what to say next. They also discussed their preferences in dating, expressing that they would rather have deeper connections with people on the East Coast, as they found West Coast men to be more surface level and lacking commitment. Overall, their conversation highlights the importance of authenticity and vulnerability in relationships, even when expressed through humor or playful banter.

    • Unexpected connections in loveLove can be found in unexpected ways and forms, and emotional compatibility plays a crucial role in its success.

Love can come in unexpected ways and forms. Jared and Alex shared an instant connection after meeting at the airport, leading them to discover they were both in a relationship with the same person, Zane. Instead of letting go, they decided to explore a deeper connection between them. Their relationship evolved into a unique partnership, where they shared experiences and enjoyed each other's company. The conversation also revealed that love is not always about physical attraction but emotional compatibility and understanding. It's important to remember that everyone's journey to love is unique, and sometimes it may take unexpected turns.

    • Rules for First Dates: Weeknights, Start with DrinksPrepare for first dates on weeknights, starting with drinks for a low-pressure, easy exit experience. Practice common courtesy and consider individual preferences.

The speaker has specific rules for first dates, including having them during the week and starting with drinks. These rules are based on avoiding ruining weekend nights if the date goes poorly and allowing for an easy exit if it doesn't go well. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of common courtesy, such as offering to pay for the date. However, they acknowledge that exceptions exist and that individual preferences and comfort levels should be considered. The speaker also mentions that not drinking alcohol doesn't necessarily deter potential partners, but open communication about this preference is important. Overall, the speaker values preparation, respect, and flexibility in the dating scene.

    • Dating Without Alcohol: Making it WorkBe open and honest about not drinking on dates. Consider alternative activities and focus on communication and understanding each other's love languages for a successful dating experience.

Going on dates with someone who doesn't drink can be a normal experience if both parties are comfortable with it. However, hiding this fact can lead to awkward situations. Activities that involve interaction and conversation, such as painting or going to an arcade, can be great alternatives to traditional bar or restaurant dates. Communication and understanding each other's love languages are also crucial for successful dating experiences. While some people prefer texting and constant communication, others may prefer quality time spent in person. Ultimately, it's essential to be open and honest about your preferences and expectations to create a positive and enjoyable dating experience.

    • Personality Matters More Than Looks in Long-Term RelationshipsWomen prioritize personality over looks in relationships, while men may initially be attracted to looks but value personality in the long run. Self-care and supplements can enhance overall health and attractiveness.

While good looks can initially attract, it's a person's personality that keeps the relationship going. Guys often date women who are more attractive than them due to societal norms and expectations. However, women tend to prioritize personality over looks when considering a potential partner. A man with a great personality can make up for perceived lack of attractiveness and even make someone reconsider initial attraction based solely on looks. It's important to remember that everyone has unique preferences, and ideal scenarios may not always apply. Additionally, the discussion highlighted the importance of self-care and supplements, such as Athletic Greens, to maintain overall health and well-being.

    • BlueChoo: Discreet ED Treatment in Chewable FormBlueChoo offers discreet ED treatment through mint-flavored chewables and eliminates the need for doctor visits and pharmacy lines with BlueJeans online prescription service. Understanding and catering to one's partner's love language can strengthen relationships.

BlueChoo is a convenient and discreet online service that provides the same active ingredients as popular ED medications, now available in mint-flavored chewables. BlueJeans, an affiliated online prescription service, eliminates the need for doctor visits, awkward conversations, and pharmacy lines, with discreet shipping right to your door. BlueChew offers a free trial with code "dropout" for listeners. The discussion also touched upon love languages, with acts of service and physical touch being mentioned as preferred ways to express and receive love, respectively. Acts of service can range from small tasks to grand gestures, and while some people value words of affirmation, others may prefer physical touch or receiving gifts. Ultimately, understanding and catering to one's partner's love language can strengthen relationships.

    • Communication and emotional expression challenges in relationshipsRecognizing and addressing emotional expression and communication issues can prevent misunderstandings and improve relationships.

Effective communication and emotional expression are crucial elements in a successful relationship. However, some people may struggle with these aspects due to past traumas or fears. The speaker in this conversation mentioned that her friend has difficulty expressing her emotions and that they have had issues with communication in the past. The friend was described as being scared of reactions and perceived judgments. The speaker also mentioned her own discomfort with tension and conflict. These challenges can lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and potential relationship problems. It's important to acknowledge and address these issues, seek professional help if necessary, and make an effort to improve communication and emotional expression in the relationship.

    • Ella's complex romantic historyDespite past challenges, Ella remains open to new romantic connections, valuing personality and comfort in a partner.

Ella, whose twin was devoured in the womb, has had a complex relationship with romantic connections. She shares a deep history with a long-time crush from high school, but they never dated due to various reasons. Ella is picky when it comes to dating and feels uncomfortable meeting new people outside of her social circle. She values personality and comfort in a partner but has a fear of the unknown. Despite these challenges, she remains open to new possibilities and is willing to explore new connections. Ultimately, Ella's experiences highlight the complexities and nuances of romantic relationships and the importance of finding someone who aligns with our values and comfort levels.

    • People's romantic preferences and behaviors can be complexPeople are attracted to certain types, rooted in childhood experiences or a desire for excitement, but these patterns can lead to toxic relationships

People's romantic preferences and behaviors can be complex and multifaceted. Some people may not have a clear "type," but when looking back at past relationships, they may notice patterns or themes. The speaker, for instance, seems to be attracted to "artsy boy" types with a buzz cut and good physique. The reasons behind these preferences can be rooted in childhood experiences or a desire for excitement and unpredictability. However, these patterns can also lead to toxic relationships, which can be addictive due to the highs and lows they bring. Ultimately, people seek consistency and love, but sometimes the pursuit of it can lead us down unexpected paths.

    • Exploring Relationships and Misconceptions on Dating AppsBe open and honest in relationships, even on dating apps, and don't be afraid to start conversations casually. The best settings for intimacy are home and great hotel beds.

During a conversation, the speaker discussed her father, relationships, and experiences on dating apps. She clarified misconceptions about her past and openness about sex. The speaker mentioned that the best place for sex is a home setting or a great hotel bed. She also shared her apprehensions about starting conversations on dating apps and suggested starting casually. The conversation touched upon topics like physical attraction, misconceptions, and shared experiences. The speaker emphasized the importance of being oneself and not being afraid to start conversations. Despite the awkward moments, the speaker remained open and honest, demonstrating the complexities and vulnerabilities of modern-day relationships and interactions.

    • Assumptions and Misunderstandings in Everyday ConversationsAssumptions can lead to misunderstandings and unnecessary confusion. Be mindful of your assumptions and communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings.

First impressions and assumptions can be misleading. The conversation revolved around the topic of wearing cologne, recognizing people, and going on dates. The speakers made assumptions about each other's actions and motives, some of which were incorrect. For instance, one speaker assumed that another speaker was wearing cologne when they weren't, and another speaker assumed that a woman they were interested in was a clown based on her lack of prompts on Bumble. These assumptions led to misunderstandings and unnecessary confusion. Additionally, the conversation revealed that some people prefer to have friends accompany them on dates to help them feel more comfortable, but this can also lead to awkward situations if the friend is discovered. Overall, the conversation serves as a reminder that it's important to be mindful of our assumptions and to communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings.

    • Creating and selling supportive friend merchandiseInclusivity and fun come together when creating and selling merchandise, but it's essential to be sensitive to all customers' needs and experiences.

The conversation revolved around creating and selling supportive friend merchandise, such as t-shirts and socks. The duo emphasized their inclusive approach and the fun they had making and selling these items. However, they also discussed an unsuccessful attempt to create an inclusive t-shirt design, which sparked a debate about inclusivity and sensitivity. The conversation then shifted to a game of "Never Have I Ever," revealing various personal experiences and anecdotes. Despite some controversial topics, the overall tone remained light and entertaining.

    • Reflecting on Past Mistakes and Growing as IndividualsPast mistakes and questionable decisions do not define us, and it's important to continue growing and maturing as individuals.

The speakers in this conversation shared stories about their past experiences, some of which involved risky or questionable behaviors, but they all agreed that they would not engage in such activities now. They played a game called "Never Have I Ever," where they took turns confessing things they had never done, ranging from spending the night at a random person's house to getting someone pregnant. The conversation ended with a lighthearted and playful tone, with the speakers encouraging listeners to connect with them online and promising to have them back on the podcast. Overall, the conversation highlighted the importance of growing and maturing as individuals, and the understanding that past mistakes or questionable decisions do not define who we are today.

What's up party people! We're back with another fun themed episode but this week we travel back in time! Maybe idk the timeline is a little fuzzy on this one. This week Zach and Tara talk about their experience meeting Tara's idol, we explore the depths of one of our love lives, and there might be a new Dropouts couple to ship you'll just have to watch and see...We hope you enjoy!

    P.S.

We sincerely apologize for another shorter episode this week :( As you can see this was shot on the same day as the Mount Everest ep and just for a little context, because of everybody’s schedules we had to shoot two episodes AND a music video all in the same day to make sure we were able to put out our regularly scheduled episodes for you all. I hope you can understand and give us a little grace for that. I also wish I could say that we’d be back to our normally scheduled program next week but to be honest with you, the next time we film will most likely be while we’re in NYC for our East coast live shows! Now, no promises, but that episode may or may not have a very cool guest on it 👀 What I can say for certain is that it’ll still be another week until we’re back in the diner. We always want to give you the best content possible and sometimes life gets busy and hectic and tries to throw a wrench in that plan, and we’re just trying our best to uphold that promise to you all. Thank you for coming along this journey, you truly mean the world to us. Can’t wait to see everybody on tour next week!!

Thank you to the team at Thurgood Media for creating the back drop for us!https://www.thurgoodmedia.com/ What's up party people! Okay, first order of business we'd like to formally apologize for the shorter episode this week. As you can see we filmed in a special location this week, but with that (and also a few technical issues) came some time constraints that we couldn't avoid. We were also filming a VERY cool project the same day that i think many of you will be excited to see 👀 We always want to provide you all with the best content we can and we hope that this unique location and all the behind the scenes effort we put into every episode and this one in particular, at least somewhat makes up for it... Second order of business, we still have a great episode for you! Despite what the background might say, things start off HOT this episode with some drama between two of our cohosts 👀 You'll just have to see for yourself who's a part of that. Following the drama, Zach and Skyler fill us in on all the wild antics they got into while at Stagecoach.
