    About this Episode

Jeremiah is called the weeping prophet. His name means “Whom God hath appointed.” The major thrust of his book is punishment for rebellion, and the 70 years captivity for punishment. In some ways, Jeremiah seems to question God about the wicked peoples’ prosperity while his people suffer. To which God tells him it is because they have rejected Him and His word. God speaks of His redemption plan for Israel and Judah, but they must still suffer for their wrong. And he asks Jeremiah if he has run with footmen, foot soldiers (which is the infantry) and they weary him, how can he contend with horses (the cavalry), when it gets harder.
