It’s Time to Retire the Idea of Jobs with Guest Hayley Darden

No topic was off limits in this awesome interview with Hayley Darden.  Looking for more engagement at work, Hayley has you covered.

Hayley's nontraditional career has always involved innovation, people, and words. For "part 1" of her career, she helped vet and hire intrapreneurs to the well-known social entrepreneurship organization, Ashoka. In "part 2," she was on the R&D team at a national youth development nonprofit, helping to develop its curriculum on passion, purpose, meaning, and power. Currently, she's leading brand and marketing at an AI and automation company with a counter-intuitive passion for... people.

Her overarching, enduring passion is seeing people "more alive" because of their work.

In today’s episode, I share my 3 Deviant Strategies for Networking and I promise none of them has to do with a Chamber of Commerce Meeting.

Be So Good They Have To Hire You

Be So Good They Have To Hire You

You don’t have to be looking for a job for this podcast to have impact.

This podcast is about becoming the kind of person, employee, consultant, teacher, etc. that stands out for being the best in what they do.

Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You” is the statement that Steve Martin gives when asked for advice on how to be a good comedian and it is the title of Cal Newport’s book by the same title.

What does it take to BE REMARKABLE?  How can you set yourself apart from others?

It really isn’t rocket science, unless you are a rocket scientist!

In today’s episode I explore what it takes to “Be So Good They Have To Hire You.”

Hacks To Handle Working From Home

Hacks To Handle Working From Home

In today’s podcast I am baring it all!  Pulling back the curtain on how I work from home!

I promise you won’t see naked knees (or anything else for that matter). But I will share what I have learned after 20+ years working from home, both as an entrepreneur and a corporate warrior. I have seen it all. The good. The bad. And the fuzzy pajamas.

It can be enough to drive lesser mortals a bit crazy.

But, never fear!  I’ve got you covered.

In this week’s podcast episode I’m sharing everything, I leave nothing out on how I work from home productively and sanely.

    • My daily routine, including sharing my personal planning pages, for the first time ever!
    • My super secret (well not anymore) concentration app.
    • The software I use to make things run smoothly.
    • Even the equipment that I use that I promise won’t break the bank.

Interview with Corporate Rebel - Pim de Morree

Interview with Corporate Rebel - Pim de Morree

A special interview with Pim de Morree from the Corporate Rebels.

Pim has spent the past few years interviewing amazing companies around the world.  These stories are shared in their new book Corporate Rebels.

Today, Pim shares the mission of the Corporate Rebels, talks about some of the great companies he has visited, and what makes them stand out.  He also gives you a glimpse of what you need to do to be the type of person some of these amazing companies would want to hire.

A bit about the Corporate Rebels:

Four years ago, Joost Minnaar and Pim de Morree gave up promising careers. Frustrated with the slow, boring corporate world, they were determined to find and study organizations that could make work fun. They called themselves The Corporate Rebels.

After compiling a Bucket List of workplace pioneers, they traveled the world in the quest for ideas. They interviewed management gurus. They studied progressive organizations. They learned from academics who confirmed that many organizations are organized in hopelessly old-fashioned ways. More hopefully, they found clear evidence that success for both companies and employees was possible—based on freedom and mutual trust.
