    CD 1621 Acknowledging A-B-B-A’s Anointing

    (March 3, 2024)

I love how our Lord Jesus in the Gospels speaking Aramaic called God the Father: “A-B-B-A” to reveal their loving intimate relationship! In this message let’s dive deeper into the fact every believer has been anointed like Jesus by our Abba Father! Of course our Lord and Savior had the Holy Spirit without measure (see John 3:34). There has not been enough teaching on the different aspects or dimensions of God’s “anointing” that abides within each believer!

*Text: 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (KJV) Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Note “hath anointed us” #5548 (khree'-o) to smear or rub with oil, that is, (by implication) to consecrate to an office or religious service. Note “khree'-o” is the verb from which “Christos” is formed. In all other scriptures it is always of the Lord Jesus Christ, see the following for deeper study:

*Luke 4:18 (KJV)The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

*Acts 4:27 (KJV) For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

*Acts 10:38 (KJV) How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

*Hebrews 1:9 (KJV) Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

God “anointed” Jesus for purpose, you and I have purpose in  our Father! Now with that being said let’s look at 3 aspects of God’s “anointing” in the believer:

    #1 Sons and Daughters “Anointing”

See John 1:12 (KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

See 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

*Romans 8:14-16 (KJV)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

When we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths Jesus Christ we are born-again and the “anointing” comes inside us to not just be a servant of God but a son and daughter of God! This “anointed” is not based on feelings, rather it abides within you continually:

*1 John 2:27 (KJV) But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

This “anointing” teaches you all things, including how to live abundantly with His saturation:

    1. A FAMILY OF FAITH - Jesus referred to His disciples as His His brothers and sisters, indicating that the church should be a family of believers who love and support one another. See Matthew 12:48-50
    2. A servant community: Jesus modeled a life of service and taught His disciples to do the same. The church should be a community of servants, following Jesus' example of humility and selflessness. See Matthew 16:24
    3. A place of transformation: Jesus came to transform lives, and the church should be a place where people are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. See Galatians 2:20-21
    4. A light in the darkness: Jesus said that His followers are the "light of the world" (Matthew 5:14), and the church should be a beacon of hope and love in a dark and broken world

(A Recovery of Joy) WEEK #6

New Year's Theme - “REJOICE” - The joy of the Christian experience is the key theme running through this epistle. The words "joy" and "rejoice" are used 16 times in the epistle. Paul wrote Philippians at a time when he was suffering in prison (under house arrest), when he was weary and wondered if he might soon lose his life for Christ. And he wrote to people he loved. So his words to the Christians in Philippi were heavy but caring; sad but consoling; appreciative but bittersweet.

This Epistle of Philippians teaches that HUMILITY mixed with HOPE overcomes HARDSHIP and results in JOY (See Psalms 118:24 & Nehemiah 8:10)

    Series Theme Verses:

*John 15:11 (KJV) These things have I spoken unto you, that my"joy"might remain in you, and that your "joy" might be full.

*Philippians 4:4 (KJV)“REJOICE” in the Lord alway: and again I say,“REJOICE”.

From these verses we see that our source of “REJOICING” comes from the Word of God on the inside of the Believer! With that being said, let’s go to chapter 2:3-11 of Paul’s letter to the Philippians and fill up with the Word (Remember what we said last week: Verses 2:1-4 constitute one long conditional sentence in Greek. These four verses are to “be of the same mind” and all that follows this instruction is the means for accomplishing that):

    #1 ACTIONS (by LOVE)

*READ Philippians 2:3 (KJV)  Let nothing be done through “STRIFE” or “VAINGLORY”; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Note “Let nothing be done” = everything we do is an “ACTION” that stems from our “ATTITUDES” based on our “ASCENSION” of ourselves in our Lord daily!

Note“STRIFE” #2052  (er-ith-i'-ah) = anything that stimulates anger - properly intrigue, that is, (by implication) faction: - contention (-ious), strife. (“STRIFE” is the 11th (judgment & disorder) work of the flesh - see Galatians 5:20 please)

Note “VAINGLORY” #2754 (kenodoxia) empty glorying, that is, self conceit.

    Q. Ask yourself: “what is my motivation in what I am about to say or do”?

*1 Corinthians 16:14 (KJV)  Let all your things be done with charity (agape - love).

*1 Corinthians 14:1 (KJV)  Follow (to pursue) after charity (agape - love), and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

*1 Peter 4:7-8 (KJV) But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

*1 John 4:19-21 (KJV) We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21  And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Now let’s look at the second half of verse 3 and then verse 4 to better understand our “ATTITUDES”:

    #2 ATTITUDES (by LOVE)

*REREAD Philippians 2:3-4 (KJV)  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Note “lowliness of mind” #5012 (tap-i-nof-ros-oo'-nay) humiliation of mind, that is, modesty.

Look at the “ATTITUDE” of the Apostle Paul:

I am the least of the apostles. 1 Cor

    CD 1617 Atmospheres…

“Life would be impossible without the atmosphere;” in the natural world, the earth's “atmospheres” is where most of our weather comes from!  You have been outside on a scorching summer day and suddenly you smell rain. Suddenly the “atmosphere” changes and here comes the rain! This natural world is a pattern from heaven (Hebrews 8:1-5 & 9:23-24).  Elijah (James 5:13-20) created an atmosphere for rain on earth from the pattern of Heaven (Matthew 6:10). Guard ”the atmosphere” around you moment by moment!

Your faith or fear creates “atmospheres”.

The Lord Jesus works in “atmospheres”!

Remember the devil is a copycat and he too works in “atmospheres”. Satan loves “atmospheres” created for desire (lust- Eph. 2:3), darkness ( Acts 26:18) and death (Heb. 2:14)! These are in direct opposition to what the Lord works in....

Create the correct “atmosphere” by calling Jesus Chriat your everything! He will only be to you what you have the faith to call Him! And faith only comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17)!

Lord, teach me how to create the correct “atmospheres” according to Your will!

    “Atmospheres” of:

#1 Love - *Romans 5:8 (KJV)   But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

#2 Light - (see Matthew 4:12-17) *Matthew 4:16 (KJV) The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

*John 8:12 (KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

#3 Life - *John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

*1 John 5:11-12 (KJV) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Depending upon the needs of the moment we must create by faith the right “atmosphere”! Remember how Jesus changed the “atmosphere” by removing the unbelieving in “Luke 8:51”!

    Closing Illustration:

    The Lumberjack

There was a rookie lumberjack who started out determined to chop down more trees than anyone else. He made it his goal to beat his company’s average tree count of fifteen trees a day.

On his very first day, he felled ten trees. He said to himself, “That’s pretty good for my first day.” But on the second day, he chopped down ten again. No progress at all. Then on the third day, he managed only seven! Now he was puzzled, but not discouraged yet. He simply doubled his efforts the next day. Imagine to his surprise when he finished with only five trees down!

Every day it got worse – no matter how hard or often he swung the ax, when each day ended, he had felled fewer trees than the day before. After two weeks of discouragement, the young man approached a grizzled old veteran. “I don’t understand what’s going on. I work hard every day, swinging my ax from dawn to dusk, but I keep doing worse and worse. What can I be doing wrong?”

“Young fella,” the old man replied after a long pause, “I can see them callouses on your hands and bigger muscles in your arms, to prove you been swingin’ your ax. But let me ask you somethin’ – When was the last time you sharpened your ax?”

CD 1616 Are You Using Your Credit Card in the Lord - Your Heavenly Bank Account Benefits

CD 1616 Are You Using Your Credit Card in the Lord - Your Heavenly Bank Account Benefits

I want to open this message with this question, which is the Title of the Word this evening:

"Are You Using Your Credit Card in the Lord?"

Do you realize you have God's Word? With His promises you can base your everyday life upon! Let's look from the natural for a minute:

A "line of credit" is a type of loan that allows you to borrow money up to a certain amount, as needed, and only pay interest on the amount you actually use. Think of it as an avenue that gives you access to money when you need it, without committing you to a fixed repayment schedule.

Now, when we think about living out of God's promises in His Word, it's a bit like having a line of credit from the Divine Bank. God has made promises to us, like His presence, His love, and His guidance, and we can "borrow" from those promises to live our lives with confidence and assurance.

Just like a line of credit, we don't have to wait until we've paid off everything before accessing God's promises. We can live in the now, trusting that He is our "BACKER," and that His Word is always true. So, just like you might dip into a line of credit when you need it, we can rely on God's promises when we need a little extra spiritual support.

*Text: Ephesians 5:15-16 (KJV) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

    #1 VISION

*Reread Ephesians 5:15 (KJV) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Note: "SEE" #991 (blep'-o) to look at and take heed, look at the following verses where "blep'-o" was used by our Lord Jesus translated "looketh":

*Matthew 5:27-28 (KJV) Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: [28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Notice this Greek word has to do with mental vision. Here Jesus is warning about sin in the heart because we a person thinks in the heart so are they - they become in other words! So with that truth we understand the Apostle Paul is warning us to see in our minds our walk! Now let’s look at the rest of verse 15 and understand more.

Note "WISE" #4680 (sof-os') clear and wise - in the thoughtful sense!

This world has its own version of wisdom (James 3:13-15) and it is carnal and devilish. We want wisdom of God:

*James 1:5 (KJV)  If any of you lack WISDOM, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Now look at what Jesus taught about those who had prideful “WISDOM”:

*Matthew 11:25-30 (KJV) At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the WISE and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. [26] Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. [27] All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. [28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

    #2 VALUE

*Reread Ephesians 5:16 (KJV) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

With that being said, let’s go to chapter 2 of Paul’s letter to the Philippians and fill up with the Word:

    #1 CONSOLATION (a word)

*READ Philippians 2:1-2 (KJV) If there be therefore any “CONSOLATION” IN CHRIST, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Note first of all, each blood bought, born-again believer is “IN CHRIST”! Since your “IN CHRIST” and He is “IN YOU” we have access and a source of joy because of:

Note “CONSOLATION” #3874 (par-ak’-lay-sis) = a comfort by calling one near!

"The closer we get to the Lord, the more distant the world becomes."

But first let’s make a note of “CONSOLATION” and “COMFORT”:

“Consolation” refers to the act of “comforting” or bringing relief to someone who is in distress or sorrow. It's the act of offering sympathy and compassion, and of providing reassurance that God is present and working in the midst of suffering.

“Comfort”, on the other hand, is a little deeper. It's not just about soothing someone's immediate distress, but also about giving them a sense of hope and strength in the face of adversity. It's about providing encouragement and strength, and reminding them of God's promises and His love for them.

So, “Consolation” is more about soothing immediate distress, while “comfort” is more about providing a deeper sense of hope and encouragement.

Let’s look at where this Greek word is first mentioned in the New Testament:

*Luke 2:25-26 (KJV)  And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

Notice this just and devout man, “SIMEON” (means hearing with obedience) and He had the Holy Spirit upon him! His message was through the “consolation” we could draw near to God through His Son Jesus Christ! Jesus is the way to God:

*John 14:6 (KJV) I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

    *1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

    *Hebrews 8:
