Champions League Final Preview Manchester City vs Inter Milan

UEFA released their short list for the this year's UEFA Men's Player of the Year. To everyone's surprise. Lionel Messi is part of the top three in this list. Even though PSG was send home in the first round of 16th in last Season's Champions League.

Although, most of us can agree that Messi had an amazing World Cup. Messi was not influential in PSG's game and did not help move on in Europe.

Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne could not be absent in the top three. Haaland was the top scorer in last year's Champions League and although he did not scored in the final he was a key player in Man City's first European Trophy.

Oddly enough, UEFA left Vinicius Junior out of the top 11. Vinicius was included in the list provided by UEFA. The Brazil had a great UCL, reaching semi-finals and scoring or assisting in every game except for the second leg at the Etihad. It doesn't make sense why Vinicius was not included in this top 11 list.

Real Madrid starts their 2023-2024 La Liga season on the right foot. Beating Athletic Bilbao 0-2 in San Mames. La Catedral is always a tough stadium for Real Madrid. Starting the season there and leaving with the 3 points is an excellent start to the season.

Ancelotti's team look really, really good. Despite some of the players still trying to find their place in the new system. The team connected really well.

Jude Bellingham was born to play for Real Madrid. The Englishman had a great La Liga debut. Scored his first official goal with Real Madrid and won his first Man of the Match in La Liga. He displayed an amazing level of football and great chemistry with his teammates. You wouldn't think this is his first season with Real Madrid.

Eder Militao picked up a horrible injury. He torn his ACL and will be out for up to 10 months. Which means his season is pretty much over. Real Madrid won't go to the market for another defender. Although Sergio Ramos is a free agent, the club feels the position is fully covered with Rudiger, Nacho and Alaba.

The Mbappe situation hasn't changed. Multiple reports keep coming out every single day. I will maintain my position. If Mbappe is signing for Real Madrid we will know once Real Madrid announces Mbappe's signing through a COMUNICADO OFICIAL 

Neymar has made the decision to leave Europe at 31 years old. The brazilian super star, has decided to continue his football career at a second tier league. He will be signing with Al Hilal another Saudi Arabia club. The Saudis are really bringing great talent from Europe. They quality of the league keeps growing and growing. Who is the next super star to go to Saudi Arabia?

FIFA has approved new rules for the upcoming season. The OFFSIDE rule is going to be tested in Italy Serie A and a hand full of other countries. The rule proposed by Arsene Wenger's proposed changed was approved to be tested this new season.

The "anti-dibu" rule against goalies moving around during a penalty kick was also approved. This rule puts the goalies at a bigger disadvantage as they now can't try to play the psychological game.

The summer-transfer market is heating up. Real Madrid stole an 18 years old player from Barcelona. Declan Rice is going to be a Gooner and Angel Di Maria is going back to home to Benfica.

The Mbappe saga continues. Kylian is close to Real Madrid and PSG is pushing for him to renew his contract. Mbappe would like to stay one more year and leave in 2024 while PSG says he either signs a new contract or he leave NOW!

Real Madrid closed the season with a tie against Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Bernabeu said farewell to Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz.

The Club did not reach a renewal agreement with Karim Benzema, who is rumored to be heading to Saudi Arabia or with Marco Asensio, who is going to play for PSG for the next 4 seasons.

The Club was not going to renew Mariano Diaz, his contract expired this season and he is leaving the club.

The biggest surprise out of all four was Eden Hazard as the Belgium had express a strong desired to finish his contract, he had one more year left. But him and the club came to an agreement. The club bought out the remainder of his contract and Eden is now a free agent. We will always wonder what could have been.
