    About this Episode

Kate’s desire to help women advance toward their goals motivated her to write Confidence Lost / Confidence Found: How to Reclaim the Unstoppable You. She has found that developing greater self-assurance empowers women to realize their dreams and to speak out about the changes that our society desperately needs.

"Kate McGuinness’ book is such an inspiration for so many people particularly women who have struggled and continue to struggle with accomplishing the impossible, PERFECTIONISM. McGuinness’ words wouldn’t have such power, truth, and relatability had she not gone through her own struggles in life. Furthermore, Ms. McGuinness effectively conveys the message that when faced with adversity accompanied by shame or self-doubt, there is a way to recreate one’s narrative with tools that she generously shares in her book. Must read!" - Sarah Brokaw, author Fortytude

"No matter what your struggle, you will find a message here that moves and calms you and the tools to take the steps you need to lead a life of authentic self-assurance. I thought I had things pretty well figured out—but I have learned, and remembered, things from Kate that I know will make a difference."  - Elizabeth H. Munnell, J.D.

Fulfillment: Imagine in our body what it feels like to be calm, grounded, and grateful. Guest DuAnne Redus

One of DuAnne's teachers was Joseph Campbell, a well-know author for The Hero's Journey film series and other works.  He understood how cultures have their own myths and storytelling methods.  One time I heard him interviewed. He was  introduced as a Visionary.  Campbell explained that he didn't relate as a visionary because he didn't 'see' visions. He talked about how he felt them in his body!

Fascinating thought.  During the time we as humanity are sequestered during the pandemic, it may be difficult to see beyond our current circumstances.  My suggestion is that we try the process Campbell used.  Imagine in our body what it feels like to be calm, grounded, and grateful.  Maybe we can all connect through that kind of vision for our collective future.
