Amina Daniels had the best workout studio in the city, but it closed.  Why?  I could not wait to work out and see all my new friends every morning and evening.  She is going to explain how hard it is to be a black woman in business during gentrification and Covid.  The studio is no longer in the neighborhood, but her spirit is still strong. 

Many of you think you know so much about the Transgender Community.  You look at them and laugh or shake your heads.  Today we will hear about the challenges of this community, from a strong and beautiful trans sister. She is on our streets everyday trying to keep her sisters safe.  This Lon'Dyn bridge ain't falling down.

Anika Goss Foster is the CEO of Detroit Future City.  Her job is not just a job, but a true love for our city.  If you want to know what is going on in this city, and the future plans to make Detroit a better place to live, she is the one to talk with.  She is one straight up sister who can't stop working to make this city better.

Many people think that HIV and STDs are gone.  We hear very little about them.  If they were gone then we would not need a Laurence Wilson fighting the good fight.  Last summer we heard about the Monkey Poxes.  The LGBTQ community raised money   for HIV and AIDS, so I knew no Monkey Poxes would be walking up in here.  So, I thought.  Guess what?  It is still here.  Laurence is going to educate us to all three and how you don't have to be LGBTQ to get them.  

Banning books is nothing new.  Every so many years it seems to pop up.  This time it's about banning people also.  Both political parties are into this sickness.  Thank God for Librarians who know how to handle these banners at the local branches, even though they have been threated.  Allia McCoy from Wayne State will give us facts on this issue.

What is it like to move from New York to Detroit to start a business.   What some call style, others call it art.  Did you know that eyeglasses are also art.  There is a boutique in Southwest Detroit that is so fly, that you would think you were in L.A or New York.  If you are like me, I know that I'm different and love it, so I never want to look like everyone else.  If you are feeling that way too, shop at the "Spectacle Society."  Tina is waiting for you. 

What a difference a day makes.  Don't believe bad things cannot happen to you. We can be a Testimony for others.

Sharea Ayers is one of our young leaders in Detroit.  She will give us important information on Black Leaders Detroit.  Sharea will enlighten us how the organization is helping to empower us as a city by supporting Black-led businesses.  Black Leaders Detroit has a challenge for all of us.

There are many jobs which are hard to do.  I'm sure we are all happy to have people in our community willing to do them.  One of those jobs deals with placing our bodies at rest.  I'm proud to have two of my former students take on this "calling".  One will explain and enlighten us to their job.  This is not a sad episode.
