    About this Episode

Chick-a-cherry-cola. Human cannonball. Deep sea diver with a raincoat. This song has plenty of nonsense lyrically, but don't worry, theres also plenty of bizarro noises. It's so, so wonderfully 90's. So join us as we decompose Savage Garden's 1996 breakthrough hit song "I Want You."

Everybody Have Fun Tonight- Wang Chung Decomposition

This is an iconic song with an iconic video.  We didn't know the words to this song before sitting down to record this episode, but it feels like we picked a good one.  Babylon? The edge of oblivion? Strong words?

The song is excellent, and we are all very glad that it wasn't a ballad.

We are also not sure that it was appropriate to have on Alvin and the Chipmunks or Veggie Tales

    Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal!

I would like to make this abundantly clear; what is about to get stuck in your head is entirely Natty Bumpercar's fault!

Here are three animal-related Christmas songs.

    Holiday Road- Lindsey Buckingham Decomposition

Oh Lindsey, where do we even begin.  He hardly even tried with this one, and now it is a decades-spanning Christmas classic.  Easily the fewest lines per song we have ever discussed.  Plus Barking!!

He does some strange things, and makes strange choices...and has for 50 plus years.

Plus you get to learn about the origins of "Windows down, radio up!"

All that and we have a new arch-nemesis!

    Banditos- The Refreshments Decomposition

    Banditos- The Refreshments Decomposition

Teresa didn't do her homework.  Katie gets saucey.

This song sounds like 1996.  If you listened to the radio in 96' then hopefully you remember this song.  Or the chorus, at least.  The Refreshments released Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big and Buzzy in 96, had a big his with "Banditos." and then promptly disappeared from the radio and Mtv.  They are still around today as Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and still writing fantastic songs.  This album is a top 10 for Brad.  High energy songs with stellar guitar hooks and excellent writing, to boot.  Which is why he owns 2 copies.

Roger Clyne writes Springsteen-esque story-songs that paint a vivid picture without spelling it out for the audience, as if they were the stupid people that populate the world.

Teresa is an excellent guitar playerist "Near, near, near, near..."  That's her shredding

this episode gets sexy, Katie can't keep it in her pants

    Buffalo Stance- Neneh Cherry Decomposition

    Buffalo Stance- Neneh Cherry Decomposition

Are you ready to party safely?  Katie is! Brad is barely awake.  But if you are ready for a safe party then turn on Buffalo Stance, do katie's new dance, and buckle up.  Neneh Cherry is nothing if not an extremely versatile artist.  And we learn a lot about her and her life.  From her musical family, to her various musical projects over the years.  Learning is fun!!!

This song is wild.  DJ Timmy/ Bomb the Bass, Mutant crocodile feet, padded boob warmers. Whats so bad about drinking beer through a straw, and why does Neneh Cherry hate women? Is she british? Another important question; What is a Buffalo Stance?  We answer all these questions while also discussing every other song in existence.

So don't you get fresh with me!

    Gigolo, sucka!!

    Yellow Ledbetter- Pearl Jam Decomposition

    Yellow Ledbetter- Pearl Jam Decomposition

This week we try something a little different.  We each wrote out what we thought we heard when listening to the song "Yellow Ledbetter."  It's an excellent song with famously mush-mouthed lyrics.

Hannah and Carmine, wearing boxers, on the rayside. onna gomman onna way.  Who knows?  Just sing whatever you want to close out a Pearl Jam concert.  Its all about community

Also, Brad doesn't want to hear your opinions

    Holy Diver- Dio Decomposition

    Holy Diver- Dio Decomposition

Ronald James Padavona, AKA Ronnie James Dio, died a heavy metal legend in 2010.  He left the world a great gift in the form of a little song called "Holy Diver," which feels like a parody of itself.

AllMusic called Dio's work "unquestionably stellar songwriting."

Teresa thinks this song is "fantastically written."

Katie andBrad both think this is rhyming metal-garbage.  And yet they love singing along with the song, and Teresa doesn't like it.

Anyway, this episode is a goofy one.  Enjoy.
