A nice riff on keeping the spiritual guard up. It’s not worth the sacrifice of part of the daily spiritual routine to get out another email, another invite. I’ve made those scarifies before for work, particularly with the family, and it’s not worth it. I’m lucky to have the resources and the flexibility to think this way.
Episode notes:
Register for the summit!: https://toolsforagoodlifesummit.com
The thought that keeps coming to me is; don’t let up on my spiritual routines to make time to finish the other stuff. The summit and things like that.
Two things around that. What is the spiritual routine? Wake up, pray, meditate for an hour. Don’t know why, it’s what I’m doing.
Some people are very meditative in most of what they do. Mindful, present, in the moment. They don’t need to sit on the couch and practice their breathing.
Then there is the course in miracles. A Course In Miracles, ACIM. Reading a section a day. Cracking open my mind even more. I’m much more open to ideas concepts, thoughts, words, phrases, and not having the dogma that’s associated with it shut my mind down.
And then I try to do some sort of four meetings a week in regards to “recovery”. And walking and now yoga.
It all puts me in such a great state of mind. Is it worth the sacrifice to get that extra email out, that extra invite out? Do I want to cut out mediation, meetings, exercise, in order to be more productive on the work front? I’m going to say no. Generally my recovery has been front and center.
Perhaps before the family would have taken a back seat. And I’m lucky to have the resources and flexibility to ask these questions.
I find the spiritual thing so powerful right now, that’s where the juice is coming from. This quality of life.
Specifically giving specific details… is that a Missnomer?
“Tools For A Good Life Summit. From the scientific to the metaphysic and from the ancient to the modern. Tools methods and (something)…”
I am systemizing the process to get this thing done and to execute.
The summit is a challenge. Many people are challenged by the summit. Some get it done quick, god bless em.
Purpose of this episode, keep the spiritual routines solid.
The summit is bringing me closer to god. Because it’s testing me so much. Stretching me, pulling me, bending me, challenging me. I’m being forced to lean in, talk to, communicate with, listen, meditate. Breath patience. Let go of all the blocks. the ego. the ego flaring like mad. More god less ego.
I was gonna talk about but we will save it for the next episode is a Waylon story, and an update on the girl…
