The process of college recruiting has changed considerably over the years. College football is competitive. So is the recruiting process. College recruiting is a game, too. There are rules and strategies. Preparation and perseverance pay off. And with roster spots and scholarship dollars on the line, there are winners and losers. Hearing about what to do and not to do during this process from those who have been through it serves as valuable information. Our guest, Donte Gamble has successfully been there and done that. Lorenzo Reyna is currently on the front lines watching and writing about America’s best talent. They will both give input and guidance to the high school athlete who is looking to play at the next level.

As we continue the conversation on college recruiting and how it has changed over the years, we will speak with Leroy Irvin, a 4 time All-Pro NFL player who still holds the record for most punt return yards in a single game. Leroy Irvin will share his experience of getting recruited in the 70’s, his experience at Kansas University, playing in the NFL and once out of the league, how he made the transition to a normal life while still keeping football in the mix.

Been there, done that, says Tony Gilbert, a 7year NFL player and current Assistant Defensive Backs Coach for Georgia Military College. Host Karif Byrd and Tony Gilbert will discuss Tony's experiences from playing at the University of Georgia to the NFL, coaching college ball and everything in between. The journey means more than the destination and it has been some journey for Tony. Giving back and setting an example or only a few charectoristics of a mentor and a leader. They will discuss how a high school player in this day and age learns the lessons of life that will lead him to the next level and beyond.

Drugging in sports. We have Dr. Bill Beacham, the Head of the Olympic Committee on banned substances and consultant for professional and amateur sports teams across the country in the studio to discuss this epidemic and the current day pressures on young athletes to be the best they can be at all costs.

AJ Cruz, a local Santa Margarita High School alumni and Brown University All Star is on the path to moving to the next level. He will share his current journey on getting to the Big Game and have the good fortune to play on Sundays.
