    Laura Bowman, Director of ETUSC, East Tennessee Unschooling Summer Camp, and Radical Unschooling mom, shares her family approach to Reading and Math.

    Laura Bowman is a radical unschooling mom of 3 amazing kids, an artist, and music lover. She is the Director of ETUSC (East Tennessee Unschooled Summer Camp), a 7 night secular camp for approximately 80 unschooling teens (13-18) from all over the country. She is also the Coordinator of ARGH
    (Autodidactic Radical Gathering of Homeschoolers), a bi-annual casual gathering for unschooling families. You can find her during the warm months on her porch making art, going for morning walks with the family dog while listening to music or audiobooks, and trying to get to the lake or river whenever possible; during the cold months she’ll be wrapped in a blanket watching Netflix, trying not to leave the house, and making art in her studio.
    She enjoys talking about vegan nutrition, family, art, and music...as well as the conundrum of being a social introvert with anxiety who organizes big social events.

    Brian Ray, Ph.D. shares how he decided to found the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI).

    He is the founding president of the non-profit NHERI (National Home Education Research Institute)​ in Oregon, U.S.A.
    He is internationally known for his research on homeschooling.
    Brian has been investigating the homeschool movement for over 30 years. He holds a Ph.D. in science education from the Oregon State University, an MS in zoology from Ohio University, and a BS in Biology from the University of Puget Sound.
    Brian is a former professor of science and education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a former classroom teacher in both public and private schools, and he has taught homeschool students.
    Dr. Ray does research and speaking across the United States and internationally that focuses on home-based education research and pedagogy, and serves as an expert witness in court cases and to government
