    About this Episode

It has been a long time coming for who I deem "The Smartest Man in Baseball", to come onto this podcast. Paul Davis is the Atlanta Brave's Director of Pitching, former Major League Pitching coach for the Seattle Mariner's, and my former colleague when we worked for the St. Louis Cardinals together where Paul served alongside me with the rehab group as the "Rehab Pitching Coach" while I served as the St. Louis Cardinals Medical & Rehab Coordinator from 2015 through the end of the 2017 season. Most of all Paul is a dear friend and mentor of mine.

Building upon the last episode where I first mention Psychological Capital (PsyCap), Paul and I discuss how he has integrated psychology into his work as a pitching coach to get the most performance out of those he serves and how this can also help all of us in our own life's version of High Stakes performance needs.

Paul Davis was interviewed for part of the book The Arm  which we discuss in this episode.

Ep.104: Overcoming Doubt as an Underdog

In this episode I explore what the ingredients are for people to overcome self doubt and build a sense of a belief in oneself utilizing "psycap" (positive psychological capital). I bring you into how I became an underdog with clips from my childhood ice hockey days along with a conversation with my colleague, peer, and friend Bryant Villota as we play some basketball together.

    Ep.102: Perfectionism, Neurodivergence, & ADHD

Hey fellow Beyond Zero'er In this episode we unravel perfectionism, where it comes from, its relationship to ADHD, and if it helps or hurts us. Special guest for this episode, Dr.Liz Slonena joins who is a psychotherapist and specializes on the topic of perfectionism and works with adult professionals that have ADHD. You will be surprised with some of the twists and turns of this episode as I become a pseudo patient for Dr.Liz and take the proverbial shrink's chair.

Dr.Liz also schools me on "neurodivergence" and the importance of this topic in the "neurotypical" society today that we might be living in...

The Ears that Listen: 100th Episode ParTAY!!!

It started as "The Harmony Exercise Podcast" for a VERY short while alongside my mentor John Denney,  which then quickly became the Injured to Elite Podcast that has now turned into Beyond Zero; and today we get to all make a toast and celebrate this momentous occasion together. I only thought it would be right to have you join the party so here is what went down...I decided to host my own Beyond Zero 100th Episode Party in person and live on zoom on Sunday April 2nd 2023. It included popping a bottle of  champagne, reading a poem I wrote to commemorate you the listeners titled "The Ears that Listen", sharing stories of the podcast from some of my most loyal audience, and cutting into a special 100th episode cake I made for myself. Yes....We ate my face! Listen in as it is never too late to join this special occasion PARTAY! WOOO WOOO

    # 99: Trauma, ADHD, & Dad

Trauma seems to be a hot topic these days especially when it comes to personal development. I mix this into the context of those I work with after injury, and far beyond. Lately I have delved into the work of physician Dr.Gabor Mate who is a leading world expert on trauma, so I brought on Dr. Mac to discuss all of this who holds her PhD in Clinical Psychology and hosts a podcast titled Revealing the Ivory Tower, follow Dr. Mac here
