    About this Episode

Communication is the key to building meaningful relationships, and it's something we all want to be better at. But how do we become great communicators? Noreen Daley, Chair of the Department of Communication Studies at Northern Caribbean University, has been in the area of communication for 20 years and shares her three steps to improving connections.

Firstly, be comfortable in your own skin. Embrace who you are and be confident in your abilities. When you are comfortable with yourself, you are more likely to be authentic and genuine when communicating with others.

Secondly, always be willing to grow. Communication is a skill that can always be improved upon, so be open to learning and growing. Seek out opportunities to develop your communication skills, such as taking courses or attending workshops.

Lastly, be open to constructive criticism. We all have blind spots when it comes to our communication, and having people in our lives who can provide honest feedback is crucial. Be open to criticism and use it as an opportunity to improve.

Noreen's passion for communication stems from her father's encouragement to speak up and be comfortable being herself. She sees communication as her life's calling and believes that it is integral to empowering young people. Daly also shares her podcast, "Making it Last," where she discusses various topics related to communication. As a communication coach, she offers one-on-one coaching in both oral and written communication.

So, if you want to become a better communicator, remember to be comfortable in your own skin, always be willing to grow, and be open to constructive criticism. And don't forget to be kinder to yourself and others, as it can make the world a better place.

Can this one word really change your mindset? | with guest Nicole Gonzalez

What if changing your mindset and believing your dreams is as easy as adding the word "yet" to what you want to accomplish? Example: I haven't run a marathon yet.

Nicole Gonzalez is an author, speaker, coach, and podcast host with a passion for helping people develop their mindset. She has authored a self-help book for teens, backpacked around the world, jumped out of two airplanes, went scuba diving in the Red Sea, cage-diving with great white sharks off the coast of South Africa, rode a shipping boat to Patagonia through the Chilean fjords, ran two marathons, hiked for five days on an Incan trail to the top of Machu Picchu, and has been living her dreams for the past decade.
These experiences have taught her how to get rid of old habits that aren’t serving us and implement new ways of thinking. Setting big goals and believing in your abilities to chase them is not an impossible task—in fact, it’s within your grasp right now. She teaches people her system of eliminating negative thought loops and offers tangible strategies to turn your dreams into reality. Discover more about Nicole here: nicolegonzalezwrites.com
