    About this Episode

EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A FIRST RESPONDER YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS MESSAGE. I REPEAT EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A FIRST RESPONDER YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS MESSAGE.

In this episode we had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Tania Glenn, a leading national clinician in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Dr Glenn specializes in working with emergency responders, military and the aviation community. Dr Glenn and her team focus on promoting resilience, critical incident response and peer support team training and activation.

Dr. Glenn gave us an in depth look into the realm of mental health in first responders and the science behind what happens to the body during and after trauma. From suicide, to history of PTSD, to being a warrior, and working on mental health. We covered the gamut in this episode.

I say this in closing, if you need help, please get it. The world is a better place with you in it, and you will be missed more than you know.

Don’t wait until it is to late, reach out!

Thank you to Dr. Glenn for opening your doors and helping us spread the word about mental health in first responders.

Yes this was a politically charged episode. But in the light of everything going on we had to talk about what it truly means to be an American Made company.

We covered so much from moving his company to Texas from California to the new products he is introducing and well riots, second amendment, failures of this administration and the failures of "We the People".

Ep. 43 Bowen Combative Art Academy

Ep. 43 Bowen Combative Art Academy

Welcome to the first episode of the new year. We wanted to get these to you sooner but to be honest we didn’t want you to forget to listen and watch during the holidays. With that being said, we start it off right, with former Green Beret, TV Star (The Selection) and practitioner of all things combat and combative, Mr. Donnie Bowen of Bowen Combative Arts Academy. From knife fighting to ground fighting he does it. When I first saw Donnie walk into Leatherwood Distillery for his recording, I instantly had the worse feeling in my bones and muscles. Why? Well Donnie is that guy that when you first started out and you believed the hype around Boyd Belts and then learned that the smaller guy in the gym could chew you up and down the mat and spit you up and down the mat. Pretty soon you had your belt around your neck and woven between your toes and you just slapped hands. I say all this to say we had a truly great time talking with Donnie. No, we didn’t spend a ton of time on his career in the military but more time as a career father and what martial arts means to raising kids and discipline (I feel sorry for the kids that tried to bully his kids in school) He truly is what we need in America today when it comes to raising youth. And yes, sometimes that is an old fashion ass whooping on the mats. Sometimes it’s okay to hit something, an idea so many Americans have never experienced. So pumped to bring this to you. Hope you all enjoy. Thank you to our Cost Host and PREMIER SPONSOR of this episode Andy Lang of Leatherwood Distillery. Please go support Donnie not only his gym and pages but more importantly his nonprofit.

Ep. 42 Live From Leatherwood "A Interpreter, A Green Beret and Whiskey"

Ep. 42 Live From Leatherwood "A Interpreter, A Green Beret and Whiskey"

Join us as we recorded live from Leatherwood Distillery in PleasantView, Tennessee. We set down with former Green Beret and Distillery Owner Andy Lang and his former Afghanistan Interpreter Masoud for an incredible episode. From the age of 13, providing for his seven brothers and sisters, working countless hours in a bakery, Masoud knew he was meant for something great. When one day while riding his bike, a group of barrel chested, long beard freedom fighters pulled up to his village got out of their vehicle and began giving him orders to leave. Being who he was he was in awe of these strange men. Shortly thereafter he would watch these men drop fire on evil souls in a nearby village killing a local terrorist group. From then on, he set out on a goal to serve his country in a way that would serve a purpose so much greater than just that. I am telling you this guy needs a movie or a book or all of the above. Thank you again to Leatherwood for the countless drinks.

And of course thank you to all of our sponsors, Tachuntfish, Triarc Systems and Denney Law for make this trip possible. Make sure and check all of them down below.
