    About this Episode

There is not one career in the world that does not need business principles to succeed.
Architect, scientist, astronaut, politician, pastor, hairstylist, barber, dentist, lawyer, doctor, construction worker, flagman, event planner, engineer, computer programmer, gamer, coder, graphic artist, seamstress, cosmetologist, athlete, entertainer, artist, etc.

K-12 education needs to be overhauled to make it real, relatable, and relevant for students now and in the future. What are we truly preparing them for? Test-taking? Scale back those tests for the love of life and sanity.

Schools removed agriculture, horticulture, home economics, and other life skills courses when one of the biggest industries in the world is agribusiness. And we have a lot of young people who grow up to be adults that lack the skills to survive and maneuver in life. They can't budget, don't know how to invest, are clueless about cooking, and can't hem a pair of pants.

People are pursuing college degrees and careers without also getting a strong business background to support their goals.
Athletes majoring in fields that they aren't prepared to pursue if their athletic career doesn't land them a multi-million dollar lifestyle.

Music, TV, film, and sports industries have businesses that thrive but a large percentage of their talent is collateral damage, due to not knowing business.

Struggling artists struggle because they don't know business. That is why their art sells for thousands and millions after they pass away, because a business person did what they do best.

A great cook opens a restaurant with no restaurant management experience, no business management experience, and that restaurant faces a painful death.

Listen to Episode 39 as Natasha dives deep and heavy into these areas and more. She shares her 17-year experience in the music industry and the issues then and now that continue to plague "creatives". She shares her experience as a management consultant and professor, and her conversations with college students and clients. She shares her experience with developing a youth entrepreneurship program for global nonprofit, Operation HOPE, and her passion for helping young people to learn to be more entrepreneurial—even if the goal is to work for someone else's company. She shares her advice on how schools, colleges, programs, and families can make significant changes to improve the odds of success.

This episode speaks directly to parents and addresses the traps, pitfalls, and mistakes that parents and their children are making, and why parents need to do a better job of building and strengthening honest and transparent relationships with their children—that will uplift, empower, and encourage their children to make common sense and business-minded decisions that protect them more than the smothering, over-protective, and other ineffective ways that parents parent.

This episode is bound to stir up conversation and have you emailing or DMing our team. We hope that it inspires and encourages you and your family to see your personal, academic, and professional lives through a business lens. And then proceed accordingly.
