I am playing catch up with this weeks episode and finally getting you all a full trip review from my solo dad visit to WDW in January. Well it's been a long time since we've had to do a "You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?" episode, but this one has been brewing for a few weeks behind the scenes. It started with the announcement that Mando was not coming back for a 4th season and instead was being made into a movie. Then out of nowhere Disney dropped the announcement that we were going to get Moana 2 as a movie, in November of this year. Having to watch the Chiefs win another championship, along with the combo of a Disney+ commercial near the end of the game pushed me over the edge though, and driving home I knew the fire was finally ready to come out, so I had to turn the mic on and change up the episode plans for this week, and let you guys know what was going on with my opinions on this one.

Well it has been a few weeks, but I hope the idea I had for this episode turns out to be worth the wait for you. I took some time off for the holidays to relax with my family, then we hit my birthday and New Years Day, and we made a BIG announcement for the future of the podcast on Instagram. When I talked about that BIG announcement here on the podcast for the first time, I wanted to make sure it was an extra special episode. I have always wanted to record LIVE from somewhere on WDW property, and with the park hopping time restrictions FINALLY being lifted, I thought why not take "The 4 Park Challenge" to the next level, and not just visit all 4 parks in the same day, but bring my recording equipment with me and record a full episode, by going to all 4 parks and recording a segment at each of them. Hopefully you guys get a kick out of the background ambiance during this episode! The gears are already spinning for future episode ideas that I can return to the parks to record as well, so hopefully this episode is something you all enjoy.

We are back for episode 81 with another Marvel/MCU review, where we talk about the latest MCU movie, The Marvels. This is a spoiler heavy episode, so be prepared if you have not seen the movie yet, we get into some very specific plot details. This episode will wrap up our Marvel content for 2023 as well. We will not see the next MCU project, which is Echo, until next month, which will be 2024.

This is a SPOILER HEAVY review for Loki Season 2.

I have been so excited to talk about this Disney+ show on the podcast because in my opinion it was far and away the BEST MCU project we have see brought to the streaming site so far. I was blow away by the acting performances, the music, and most of the writing and story telling they did this season. I feel like they gave Loki a FLAWLESS complete character arc, and I really appreciate the way they ended the season. It allows time to let Loki sit on the shelf (no pun intended) for awhile if he wants to go pursue other projects, and if it ends up being the last time we ever see him in the MCU I can be satisfied with that. But it also does leave the door open in a way that if he and the MCU ever feel like they are ready and want to bring him back, it will not cheapen his character arc whatsoever and I would be excited to see him play Loki in the MCU once again.

I always appreciate anyone that LISTENS to this podcast, but this week I am giving you all some VISUAL homework. You guys have been asking when Sydney was coming back on the show to finish her trip report from our Sept 2023 Father/Daughter trip, and today is finally that day. Dental surgery, internet issues, friend birthday parties, school work, they all did their best to keep her from getting back on the mic these past few weeks, but the stars finally aligned once again and she is back to finish telling you all about our trip.

Day 2 we went to Epcot and Magic Kingdom.
Day 3 we started in Animal Kingdom and then park hopped to Hollywood Studios, then over to Epcot, then back to Hollywood Studios again to close out our park time for this trip.
Day 4 we headed back home.

Right off the bat, I apologize for the audio quality for my portion of the interview with my daughter Sydney. I did not realize my podcast mic had not connected properly so our entire hour plus interview my audio was only recorded from the mic built into the laptop and you can here the drop in quality from what I normally try to bring to the table here on this podcast, and I did not want to make my daughter have to re-record everything that we had just talked about a second time.

The good news is that my guest this week is my daughter Sydney and I am so happy to get her back on the show again. You have heard her voice many times mixed into some of the comedy skits I have done, so it was so fun to get her back on for a full interview episode. We just had a father/daughter 1 on 1 trip down to WDW, and this episode today is just part 1. 

For this episode we cover our reasons for doing this trip, the travel down, our first day in the Disney bubble, and the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Thanks to everyone that sent in some questions for Sydney to answer on this episode!
