    In our launch episode, we dive into the current situation with apprenticeships and vocational training in England after a turbulent two years following the outbreak of Covid-19. We discuss the impact of Covid-19 of apprenticeship uptake, the government’s apprenticeship strategy, the growing skills deficit in the United Kingdom and a workforce in crisis. We are honoured to be joined by Toby Perkins, Labour MP and Shadow Secretary for Skills and Further Education to chat about the potential of apprenticeships to solve some of these issues. 

    Toby Perkins 

    Toby Perkins is the Labour MP for Chesterfield and Staveley and the Shadow Secretary for Skills and Further Education. Toby was elected as a member of Parliament in the 2010 general election and returned to front bench politics in 2020 under the leadership of Sir Keir Starmer, previously having served under Ed Miliband’s leadership as Shadow Education Minister and Jeremy Corbyn’s Shadow Armed Forces Minister.
