Following the events of Sourcery, Rincewind has been trapped in the Dungeon Dimensions, desperately fleeing the Things that live there, believing every minute to be his last. To his surprise, he is pulled from the Dungeon Dimensions by Eric, a thirteen year old demonologist. Believing Rincewind to be a demon summoned to do his bidding, Eric asks for three classic wishes: to be ruler of the word, to meet the most beautiful woman in history, and to live forever. Wishes have a tendency to be literal, however, and hell is no laughing matter.
