Episode 2 : The Dior Age of Marc Bohan, imagined and told by Jérôme Gautier

In 2016, 70 years after the creation of the Maison, the italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri became the first woman to be appointed head of the women's collections at Dior. Inspired, modern, and efficient, she was called upon to bring back the flower-women, so dear to Christian Dior, who are more relaxed but always refined. The dream turns into desire, and femininity into a feminist momentum.

En 2016 – 70 ans après la création de la Maison –, la créatrice italienne Maria Grazia Chiuri devient la première femme nommée à la tête des collections féminines de Dior….Inspirée, moderne, efficace, elle est appelée pour faire rejaillir les femmes-fleurs chère à Christian Dior, plus décontractées mais toujours aussi raffinées. Le début des années 90 sèment le trouble. L’anti-Fashion, cristallisé par le grunge, brouille les codes de la mode. Alors John Galliano relance le glamour, ce qui va l’amener chez Dior. The 1960s are the years of emancipation. Skirts flare and shorten, and trousers become a symbol of a new state of mind. Ready-to-wear sets the pace, and “Miss Dior” (first prêt-à-porter line of the fashion house) is born. Times are changing. Marc Bohan designs for the present, but for how long?

Les années 60 sont des années d’émancipation. Les jupes s’évasent, raccourcissent… et le pantalon devient symbole d’un nouvel état d’esprit. Le prêt-à-porter donne la mesure, et naît « Miss Dior » (la première ligne prêt-à-porter de la maison de couture). Les temps changent, Marc Bohan dessine au présent mais pour combien de temps ?
