We head into September '89 in the NWA with the Sting & Flair vs. J-Tex feud headlining the upcoming Clash 8 card. Plus, Syndication is all out of whack as segments on NWA Pro seem to be WEEKS BEHIND. Meanwhile, over on World Wide, the NWA reaches another new low when they air promos meant to be shown AFTER the Clash with several of the wrestlers giving away the finishes to the Clash 8 matches… THAT HAVEN’T HAPPENED YET! Oh, NWA.

    NWA Pro 9/2/89 (00:31:07)
The syndication issues reach an all-time low as we try to figure out how far BEHIND the current product Pro is and how far AHEAD WorldWide is. Because NWA, UGH. World Champion Ric Flair battles the Cuban Assassin, the SST launch Lee Scott into orbit AGAIN, Lance Russell names the enzuigiri, plus action with the Freebirds, the Midnights, the Steiners, Flyin’ Brian, and Pedicino Knows has overstayed it’s welcome.  We relive Rick Steiner and Robin Green’s first date at the Atlanta Zoo. What a B*tch! Terry Funk talks, and we talk a fantasy 3 Horsemen. Plus, Dave Meltzer loses his mind when ROLLERGAMES RETURNS TO TV!

NWA World Wide Wrestling 9/2/89 (56:33)
As far behind as the Pro show is, Worldwide is a week ahead of the current product and it’s making things really hard to keep track of. Darn you NWA! World Champion Ric Flair defends against Wild Bill Irwin, plus action with the Birds, the Steiners, the Roadies, and Sid. What a lineup! Plus, interviews from Teddy Long, Terry Funk & Gary Hart, the Birds, Flair & Pillman, and Lex Luger says he’s bigger than the U.S. title.

NWA World Championship Wrestling 9/2/89 (01:14:17)
The Braves run long as we join this episode of WCW in progress, but just in time for a Tommy Rich match! Wahoo McDaniel joins commentary for action with the SST, Dan Spivey, the Birds and Promos from the Steiners, Ric Flair, Sting, Road Warriors, Michael Hayes, Tommy Rich’s insults on the mic are about as effective as his offense in the ring. Plus, Music Videos galore, including the infamous Dynamic Dudes Jazzersizing video!

    NWA Main Event 9/3/89 (01:25:42)
It’s ARMBAR MANIA as “Wildfire” Tommy Rich takes on Ron Simmons in a match that goes on forever.. and ever… and ever… Just ask Steve!

    NWA Power Hour 9/8/89 (01:29:13)
It’s a monster 8-Man Tag Main Event with the Steiners teaming with the Roadies to take on the SST & The Freebirds. J-Tex joins Funk’s Grill. Gordon Solie talks the Clash. Jim Cornette roasts Jim Ross and his Sooners. Action with Flyin’ Brian & Tommy Rich. Plus, U.S. Champion Lex Luger vs. Ranger Ross coming to Twitter: watch as the Total Package slips off the middle rope and takes a nosedive to the mat! RIGHT IN THE SCHNOZ!

    NWA Syndicated Issues (01:40:55)
The syndication timeline woes continue. Even though NWA Pro for 9/9 is MIA, we discuss once more how behind the times the program is and what exactly is going wrong behind the scenes with the NWA production staff.

NWA World Wide Wrestling 9/9/89 (01:42:47)
Okay, NOW the NWA hits an all-time low when they air Post Match Promos discussing results from Clash 8…. BEFORE THE CLASH HAPPENS!!! First, Jim Ross interviews Robin Green about her interference at the Clash, THAT HASN’T HAPPENED YET! Then, Terry Funk & Gary Hart discuss their dastardly attack on Ric Flair at the Clash, THAT ALSO HASN’T HAPPENED YET!!! Plus, the Midnights vs. The Militia, and more with the Skyscrapers, Flyin’ Brian, the Roadies, Lex Luger, and Tommy Rich. Plus, the Fan’s Man Joe Pedicino smells cheeseburgers… and dissension between Missy Hyatt & Robin Green.

NWA World Championship Wrestling 9/9/89 (02:04:56)
Until now, it was thought that only 15 minutes of this show existed… but no more! It’s here, the full 2 HOUR VERSION of the September 9th WCW program! Wahoo McDaniel joins for commentary once more as we see Ranger Ross vs. Bill Irwin, Flyin Brian takes on Eddie Gilbert, the battle of the Mikes with Capt. Mike Rotunda vs. future star Mike Awesome, and a candidate for worst match of the year as Sid Vicious meets Scott Hall. The Z-Man is coming 9/12/89! There’s a new TV Champion and his name is Muta. We’re gifted an encore presentation of the NEW Robin Green vignette. Squashes galore with the Birds, the Steiners, the Midnights, and U.S. Champ Lex Luger. Clash 8 hype to the tune of Feud Video packages, plus College Football breaks with Craig Sager, and the AMERICAN GLADIATORS are coming so check your local listings! But that’s not all, RARE audio of promos including The J-Tex Corporation, Lex Luger, Teddy Long & his Skyscrapers, Gordon Solie talks the Clash, and Ric Flair & Sting join the Danger Zone. Listen as Flair buries Paul E. shortly before firing him in real life, #politics. Plus, listen as host Ray Russell shares a Z-MAN STORY you won’t want to miss!!!

    NWA Main Event 9/10/89 (02:47:45)
It’s the rematch we never knew we needed when we witness ARMBAR MANIA 2 – this time Tommy Rich teams with “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert to take on the Sheik’s Army of Ron Simmons and The Cuban Assassin. Plus, the final countdown to Clash 8 “Fall Brawl”.

This all takes us to the Clash of the Champions 8 “Fall Brawl” on Sept. 12, 1989. The Clash 8 he Watch-Along is also now available at Episode 19 of the Wrestling Memory Grenade!

Enjoy the fun with Episode 21 and come back next week when we knock out THREE WEEKS of NWA ’89 goodness to close out the month of September in what is sure to be an ultra-mega-mass edition of the show!
