If you went back through your old journals, would you be surprised at what you had forgotten? Have you forgotten the ways God has moved in your life? Provided? Restored? Rescued? That's why He told the children of Israel to remember. Let's remember today.

It's interesting how the main thing that brings our souls restoration is often the thing we resist the most. Psalm 23 says, "He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul." Yet, we have become a people addicted to noise. In fact, we might even resist being quiet. Sitting in quiet. Yet, could it be that the very thing we are resisting is what our hearts need most? God has more for us. But could something be blocking it? Would we be willing to remove it if it meant having more of Him? Hearing more from Him? Encountering more of His presence? The first of a new year is a good time to be asking questions like these.
