Episode 300: 27AD: Water Into Wine

While the disciples went to and from Jerusalem, Jesus taught lessons on the road driving home the importance of his nature, the character of Christ.  "Lest we offend them," Peter caught a coin for the temple tax out of the mouth of a fish. Then, Jesus taught on humility, power by the wrong spirit, and three reasons people refused to be his disciple: comfort, money/tradition, and sin.

The Feast of Tabernacles continues. Jesus confronts the religious leaders referencing the future cross, how the truth will set you free, and evades stoning multiple times only to heal a blind man from birth.  The healing causes a stir and the blind man becomes an instant evangelist. We conclude this episode with Jesus' famous shepherd and door teaching, and how his sheep hear his voice.

After appearing at the Feast of Tabernacles, Jesus goes to the Mount of Olives where he is confronted by the Pharisees who bring him a woman caught in the act of adultery.  They tell Jesus to stone her as Moses commanded.  Jesus' response speaks to the new covenant, eternal wisdom, and the redemption of the gospel.

Jesus sent his disciples ahead of him into Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles.  Then, Jesus appears to everyone in the middle of the feast, and in the temple courts. He teaches the people and they are amazed, while the Pharisees want to kill him.  Jesus would reveal he is the reason and fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles.  We conclude the episode by speaking to the prophetic fulfillment of the feasts.

After multiplying the bread and fish, the Pharisees ask for a sign, but Jesus says he will be the sign of Jonah. In response, Jesus tells his disciples to be a cautious of the leaven of the Pharisees.  Then, he goes to Bethsaida, where the healing of a blind man teaches us about healing and the spiritual condition of Bethsaida.

Jesus leaves Tyre and Sidon, and goes to the Decapolis, a gentile region across the Sea of Galilee with ten cities. Immediately, he heals a deaf man, by touching his ears and tongue, and speaking 'be opened.' The people say 'he does everything well.' Crowds follow him into the wilderness, where he performs miracles and multiplies fish and bread. The numbers and symbolism of the multiplication paint a picture that the gospel, the break of life, and the body of Jesus, is for the whole world.
