    About this Episode

I’m really excited about this next interview guest! Chris Hughes of Broken Arrow Ranch, has probably one of the most unique business models I’ve seen with their on-site field harvesting and mobile processing unit as well as their own sales and distribution of wild game. Chris’ father Mike Hughes, a true pioneer in the industry, started the business and created their mobile processing unit in 1983. This family run business is the real go-to for wild meat for individuals and restaurants. It’s not just a win-win for them but as Chris likes to call it a win-win-win, since they are also helping create sustainable herd populations for ranchers and providing a necessary service for our wildlife.

Epidsode 3: Roam Ranch & Force of Nature Meats
I can’t believe spring is here and how incredible this weather has been. Everything is starting to bloom, and it’s just gorgeous. Speaking of seasons, I have been looking forward to sharing this interview with Marshall Seedorff since visiting with him in the fall. Marshall is the VP of Sales for Force of Nature, which is a regenerative focused meat company that works with different farms and ranches to provide nutrient-rich food that not only feeds consumers but the environment as well. I was lucky enough to meet with Marshall at Roam Ranch, which is actually owned by two of the three co-founders of Force of Nature, Taylor and Katie. They specialize in raising grass fed and free range bison, turkey, chicken and ducks year round. It was incredible to see and photograph the bison herd and learn all about their regenerative practices. And all I have to say is if you aren’t hungry now before listening to this episode, you will most likely be craving a bison burger after. And if you are hungry now, well good luck to you.

    Episode 2: Bob Webster
I’m really excited for about this interview with Bob Webster. If any of y’all know Bob, y’all know how much passion he has for plants and growing organically. With his background in biology, co-owner of Shades of Green and his incredible tenure as host of his radio segment on KTSA every Saturday and Sunday morning, he has a wealth of knowledge and loves to share. I was actually lucky enough to work for Bob at Shades of Green. I learned an incredible amount and loved my time with the crew there. This episode is filled with so much great info, so saddle up and get ready for some good stuff! Enjoy it, y’all!

    Episode 1: Bridget's Basket

    Episode 1: Bridget's Basket
Welcome to the very first interview of Wild & Rooted. I was lucky enough to chat with none other than Bridget Symm of Bridget’s Basket! When I first met Bridget, I was standing in the back of the kitchen at her restaurant in Hunt, Texas watching her make bruschetta. It was a Wednesday evening during the summer and everyone was on the patio enjoying live music and happy hour. And if you haven’t had a glass of wine on their patio, you better get to it. In my typical “curious Courtney” fashion I walked right in (with her permission of course) and we immediately began chatting about the importance of organic and regenerative farm practices and how to educate others through food. Because, food is pretty much the way to the heart. Listen to her full story of resilience and patience!
