In honor of Valentine’s Day, I take Small Town Tales in a little bit of a different direction in this episode to explore the life of Frank Calabrese, Jr right here in Las Vegas, NV.

But what is it really like inside the family? Frank Calabrese, Jr. discusses the opposition, risks, and need in going against his father, and the Chicago Outfit to protect himself and his family.

New York Times Best-Selling Author and Organized Crime Insider and Expert Frank Calabrese, Jr. is the son of "Frankie Breeze", a “made” man who ran major loansharking and illegal gambling operations for the Chicago Outfit. Frank Jr., wrote to the FBI from prison and volunteered to wear a wire on his father and uncle, which led the investigation charge to the Family Secrets trial. Operation Family Secrets was a milestone in the FBI's battle against organized crime in Chicago. It is said to have had a significant effect on the operations of the Chicago Outfit.

What is it like to grow up in the middle of high profile haunted cases alongside the Warrens? In 1970, Dan and his father, an Electronics Engineer for the U.S. Army, had a major UFO sighting in New Jersey; after his father’s death in 2017, He recalled that encounter later and was inspired to write After They Came. Dan later experienced two other UFO events: In 1996, high in the sky above the Lancaster, CA, desert, he saw a bright white ball of light quickly travel from one end of the sky to the other – then stop – then reverse its course by returning to its original point of origin! In this episode of Small Town Tales, my guest, Josh Purvis revisits his experiences during an investigation of a haunted location in West Virginia steeped in history. The land itself includes history related to a hotel with a healing spring, a tuberculosis sanatorium, and a home for the elderly. The Searchers embark on a journey to experiment with the idea that the paranormal experiences people have maybe be generated by an energy they are exerting instead of the energy of the location.

This episode is better viewed on youtube. Josh shares various clips from the film, "The Searchers" and talks about the experiments they used with extra sensory deprivation and the experiences generated by these experiences. The question of what caused the paranormal activity is yet to be explained.
