Episode 91 - An off-VAR you can't refuse

So... Charity Shield then... Yes we have turned up a bit late - but we have turned up before Kai Havertz has, so I call that a victory for Our Lot in Block 5. Stuart welcomes us to his new Sky Glass 65 incher and the Minogue suite (with the hot tub) - while John doesn't think the season has started well at all! He did get to see Siouxsie and the Banshees though this summer - so all is well with the world! 

The season may have felt like it ended in April but we are back for a round up of the best of the season, where we go next. As Buzz Aldrin once said 'Second comes right after first.' The only way is up, for us, Yazz and her Plastic Population (Johns's music choice). See you in July! Have a great summer.

This week the podcast is interrupted by a protester with a big bag of wotsits - yes John is protesting about our season and sees another Desmond as the end. But can Matthew and Stuart be more positive? Find out on the pod.... 

This week we come back from Anfield with a point and that's more than you can say for most of the last decade. However, some of the refereeing decisions this weekend (especially against Brigton) were shocking and it's not only Andy Robertson who should be getting the elbow!

The pod title comes from John's tactics for beating City and specifically Phil Foden. We talk Leeds, our upcoming game against the bin dippers and strangely, we all seem to know nothing about Rugby Union in this episode.. funny that.

Yes, at last some relief in the inter-lull! The boys discuss crashing out 3-3 in Europe, Crystal Palace and we even find out what John thinks a 'zamboni' is!

There will be no bollocks talked this week and instead just all the action from this weekends Our Lot in Block 5.

And it was late with 98 minutes on the clock when Reiss Nelson threw his swinger at a cleared corner and we all went totally crazy for the rest of the weekend. We talk about our two wins this week and look forward to Europe, play some Specials and honour a certain Spurs fan who rolled his car this week with a Duke Boys classic. 

I think we manage to talk cautiously about our chances of winning the league, moan about VAR and the media's opinion about us for nearly 30 minutes before John says the first positive point. Remember we are top of the league with a game in hand. This is us, we are back. We are worried. We are excited. We want you to come back into our world and join us talk about the most exciting time, hoping you will get something cathartic from our chat. Nice to be back.

We are all off to the World Cup so we thought we would give you something to keep the Arsenal spirits up until Boxing Day. We look back to the 2010 World Cup, Vuvuzelas and falling asleep in the pub when we played the USA. Stuart picks his Top Boy this week and there's a nationalities quiz to take us to Qatar. And there isn't one mention on this podcast of Strictly Come Dancing - what were we thinking!
