Fearless in Babylon - Courage (Zach Thompson)

This week, we take a break from our John series to focus on the reality of Jesus' crucifixion. Our students had the opportunity to walk through different stations that contained different elements of what Jesus endured (crown of thorns, hammer/nails, and more), in order to have space to reflect on what Jesus' went through during his crucifixion. Zach spoke from Luke 23 about Jesus' encounter with the 2 criminals on the cross, before having everyone walk around to each of the stations and reflect on Jesus' sacrifice.

// JESUS' CRUCIFIXION// - March 3rd, 2024 This week, Zach continues in John 19, and talks about Jesus' crucifixion. Crucifixion was a horrendous form of torture and execution, yet Jesus endured it for us. For those who don't believe in Christ and are headed for destruction, they see the cross as foolishness. Yet for those of us who believe in Christ, we see the power of the cross, and how it sets us free from sin and darkness.

// JESUS SENTENCED TO DEATH // - February 25th, 2024 This week, Zach preaches from John 19, where Pilate hands Jesus over to be crucified. In this story, we see how Jesus frees us from sin & shame, and how He is faithful. In addition - we see how Pilate gives into social pressure and wrongfully sentences Jesus to death.

// JESUS AND PILATE // - February 18th, 2024 In the second week of our "Journey to the Cross" series, Zach preaches about Jesus' interaction with Pilate, who sentenced Jesus to death. Pilate asks the question - "What is truth?" How does that apply to us today in our current culture? How can we pursue Jesus' truth, instead of the "truth" of the culture around us?
