In this episode I am joined by Chris Lynch. Chris is an award wining author of several highly acclaimed young adult novels and a national book award finalist . He joins me to talk about his latest middle grade novel, Walkin' the Dog ( released March 12) which is a moving story about a young boy and the life lessons he learns from his four-legged friends and the unexpected paths they lead him on. Chris also shares his own stories of the guidance and lessons he has learned from the loved dogs in  his life.

Dr. Laurie McCauley graduated from Colorado State School of Veterinary Medicine  where she spent six years in general practice, and quickly became a pioneer in the field of Veterinary Rehabilitation. Dr. McCauley is an International lecturer and contributing author in many textbooks and journals. She was awarded the 2011 Iams AARV Award of Excellence in the Field of Rehabilitation and the 2015 AHVMA Holistic Practitioner of the Year Award.  She does locum work at the Louisiana School of Veterinary Medicine, stepping in as head of the Integrative Medicine Department several times a year.

Beginning as a modest grassroots effort, these passionate activists have made remarkable strides in bringing an end to most greyhound racing in the United States.
We discuss their life long commitment to ending this cruel sport and their new book  Brooklyn Goes Home a story  of how one greyhound sparked a movement to close the worst dog track in the world.
